Perfect fix it/filler for this episode. I so wanted Jack to be next to Mac's bedside when Mac woke up. And thank you for writing it.
Not to mention the lovely talk and how Jack held on to James' watch for Mac.

I agree and will get on getting requests for more Mac and Jack. This was good. It was strange having cage there when mac woke up in this episode. Not feeling the cage thing either

Excellent! Of course Jack would be there when Mac first woke up. The show is really starting to become way less interesting than the fanfic about it! It bugged me bunches when Mac wouldn't take Jack's call a d Riley's telling him to stay out of her business!

We definitely need more Mac & Jack. I have to admit though, I am loving Jack’s screen time so... ;-). I’ll more than likely miss this week’s ep, headed to Ventura, so keep representing us in the live tweets, I’ll catch up eventually.

Okay, new writer clearly disagreed with the first season because if I'm honest, that bugged me too. I didn't like it at all. What exactly happened there? Riley may be his daughter, but Mac's his kid too! What the Hell?

Great story! I am so impressed at how true to character the dialog is written! And the comparison of Mac’s dad to Schrodinger’s cat was so insightful! And I agree with you about the writing this year. And seeing the blurb about the preview for the next episode has me worried. I hope they don’t make Jack act like an idiot with Riley’s father. Too often, the writers make Jack look goofy and not so smart, and that bugs me. Thanks for the great stories and advocating for the writers to write better stories!

I agree completely! Although I don’t hate Cage I would prefer less of her. And more Mac and Jack! That bromance is supposed to be the heart of the show and now it’s barely there at all. The storyline with finding Mac’s dad should take precedence over Elwood and Bozer’s training. I was so surprised when Jack didn’t show up at the hospital. Of course he loves Riley, but I still think Mac is his first priority. It was OOC. Might I add that I’m super confused about the ending of the episode? Wtf happened with the film, and with the guy in Jack’s car? I’m so confused. Anyway, I loved this tag, and I think that’s what they should have shown in the episode.

Also agree with you that the show should focus on Mac. The Bozer arc is annoying, as is Riley and her dad drama. They are focusing way too much on side characters, whose only job is supporting Mac (and Jack.) Cage can go bye bye, for all I care. Her personality is annoying AF.
Would be cool if they did a Penny Parker episode...

This was so needed! As I was watching the end of the episode I kept thinking back to when Murdock took Mac and when they finally got him back, Jack was all big brother protection and then here's this one and there's no Jack? Like I totally get Jack's relationship with Riley and all that, but it seems that Mac's and Jack's relationship keeps being put on the back burner for their relationship instead of them both being shown? It's really weird. Anyways, this was really awesome! Your fics are just so great!

Love your take on this. Just like a perfect, yet deleted scene! I kind of figured when Mac woke up to Cage being there, that it wasn't the first he'd woken since arriving at the hospital. You filled it in so nicely, though with the 'love ya, kid.' That was great. Also, Mac giving Jack permission to go and check on Riley. So totally Mac. What social media or feed are you referring to? Would be glad to get on there and voice a little opinion.
