Great one-shot. I would love to see this as a multi-chapter story though. It is so well written it feels that you are reading far more than 2'500 words. Love the perspective being on Karen as well! Great fanfic.

I do sort of wonder how Karen (and especially Ted) would be persuaded to take El in like that, without knowing her full backstory. However, I don't doubt that El would grow on Karen at least.

I like how Karen seems to be trying to discover the different facets to El's personality on her own. (BTW, as this was written before S2, I'm guessing she hasn't been living with Hopper for most of the past year, learning more social and conversational skills.)

It'd be interesting if Karen learns of El's abilities like Ted did in your other story. Maybe El would save Hollie from something, and Karen witnesses it.

The story was light and yet touched on the horrors that El has endured. I wondered about this scenario until I read you note at the end. I also really enjoyed El's 'betrayal' at the end. Nice work!

This is the sweet, unencumbered Mileven that I miss. While the massive AUs are impressive and the continuation multichapters are amazing, this is clearly the ultimate. Mileven perspectives (from different characters) are the best, and there is just something about them in the Wheeler household that makes it...special. I really can't describe how much this and the stories like it mean to me, please write more like this, it's clearly the best.

This was very fun and sweet. I really enjoy one on ones with El and not mike characters, though Mileven all the way. That end was delightful.

You did an excellent job. Really. And on something we rarely see in Fanfiction.
It's just perfect the way you portayed Karen's thoughts and the sweet moment between El and Mike. You are talented. It amazes me how you can "enter" into a character head. Karen, El and Mike are just so In-character it's wonderful. And not cheesy at all, which is so rare! :)) Thanks! Really. And Power Cut, OMG, how much I love this story!
