Reviews for Awful MarySue: The Unsold Tales
Gil Shalos1 chapter 11 . 11/17/2016
I can't believe I missed this when it first came out, and I have to say, I am enormously flattered that my silly little list inspired such an epic work of parody. You got in the ferrets and the Bengal Tiger! The terrible hilarious made up elvish! The vac'n'pac! This is work of awesomeness and I am delighted to have played my own small part in its creation.
Charlotte Dacre chapter 11 . 10/8/2010
I've never thought I would find an author to rival Eggo Waffles, the queen of LOTR parody. But then I stumbled upon 'Awful Mary Sue'... What can I say, I couldn't resist the charms of Menethôlwen, she of the numerous powers and even greater number of intriguing bodily features. Your story is the epitome of EPIC, what with the ferrets, Bengal tiger, Ara/Boro slash (yay!), miraculously undead Boromir, free love (yay! no 2), and the assortment of men, elves, dwarves and the Valar (Olay!) whom we all know so well and love (Orlando Greenleaf a.k.a. Leggy). So ... Will the whole keg of Roarhick Red Ale be a sufficient enough inducement for you to continue your tale, o most talented mistress wordsmith?
hotdogfish chapter 8 . 3/8/2010
So i was reading this and enjoying it very much cos parodies are the best thing since pre-sliced bread, then i saw that there was the extended version on gildor's library. So I went and had a look for it, but I couldn't find it. Could you send me a link directly to the fic? or the name of it in the library as "Awful MarySue: The Unsold Tales" didn't bring anything up, or your user name of "Jenn"

PS my email is as I'm not sure if it sends you it automaticlly.

PPS Yes, I'm over 18, even though I can't spell without a spell checker
GingerBookworm chapter 11 . 9/1/2008
Interesting very interesting.
Anonymous chapter 7 . 6/6/2008
Oh my...

How do you manage to come up with this stuff?

-snicker-

Olay, Lord of the Smith...who then does something that lets [insert impossible-to-pronounce name] heal Boromir. Nevermind that smithing has nothing to do with healing mortally wounded humans. And Nano is now the Lord of the Dead (or whatever his new titles is). You know, that reminds me of an iPod Nano too much...I'm never going to be able to look at one without laughing now.

And the rest of the 10 person Fellowship stands around and basically watchs as a a one-man (err...one-lady) Fellowship does all the work. And some of the made-up work too.

And, oh my god, the messed-up Elvish is enough to make me laugh myself to tears...

...I'm still trying to figure out how you can write this without going blind, but it's hilarious to read!
Kalisona chapter 11 . 4/19/2008
This is hysterical, wonderful and amazing. I am impressed by your skill (and your ability to write such a thing without blinding yourself! _). Oh, the Walls of Mangos, Olay, the elvish...And especially the Ninni! It's all fabulously funny.

I really am running out of words and don't have my thesaurus at hand so...I'll have to stop spouting random praise for now.

Absolutely hilarious! Update soon, please! ;)

wentelteefje chapter 1 . 12/30/2007
LOL! I love the "elvish" and translations! XD
Casey Toh chapter 11 . 12/6/2007
I've missed this series!

And all the names and the characters' antics are hilarious, leaving me giggling to myself.

Orlando Greenleaf and Aragon Mortenssen indeed. :P
JastaElf chapter 11 . 10/24/2007
OH so wonderfully sick... and twisted... and icky in all the best ways! So the Ninni has made true love blossom between Grima and Eowyn? OMG... she truly IS all-powerful! :)

I live in fear of where you are going next. Superbly done! :)
Soledad chapter 11 . 10/24/2007
You have a wicked way with names, you do. I think Gambling is my favourite so far. Give him a hlatafl set and he'd be happy leaving his mudd-brained King to the wizards' care.
Aislynn Crowdaughter chapter 3 . 10/23/2007
"Oh it's quite simple. If you are French, you speak the password and the doors will open. Of course! So what's the password?"

Bwu- Bwahahahahaha! *gasps for breath*

Do not mind me, I am just laughing too hard here to say anything. This is marvelous! Thank you for writing and sharing!
Aislynn Crowdaughter chapter 2 . 10/23/2007
""you seem to have gotten a bit chilled lying there on the river stones. Best we get you warmed up again, eh?" He waved his hands and chanted more words in Enya, the ancient, musical language of the Elves.(2)"

Awesome! I am currently laughing too hard to write coherently. Very amusing, indeed, and very well done!

Tira Archer chapter 10 . 10/23/2007
ha! did I ever need that laugh! so great...this entire story makes me snicker endlessly, it really is so terrible!
JastaElf chapter 10 . 10/23/2007
This is wonderfully, evilly brilliant. So! The Man Who Now Would Not Be Steward Either lives due to the intervention of *giggle, snerk!* Olay of the Valar... You simply MUST work in reference to an Oil of Olay that helped him recover from his wounds or something... *grins*

Just wonderful stuff. I love how all the warriors of the Fellowship just... stand there always because she basically takes their jobs from them. If I could draw, I would draw a pic of them all (plus Sue and animals of course!) and show the men with their hands folded over their nether bits... *grins evilly*

I look forward to the next chappie with the same fascination one feels when watching a cobra sway... or several cars pile up on the freeway in a chain-reaction fender-bender... or sludge bubble up from a cauldron... in short, I love this! Thanks for the update!
Soledad chapter 10 . 10/23/2007
You're evil! HEar me? Evil! "Elijah Baggins", indeed. *rolls on the floor some more*
