I'm belatedly getting into SV fic because of a growing addiction to Chloe/Lex, and so I had to tell you how much I enjoyed this earlier work of yours!

This puts such a big smile on my face. :D So much fun to read about my two favorite characters investigating together and having wacky-but-thrilling adventures. It's, well, heartwarming! A much-needed antidote to bitterness over the TV show. Thanks for taking me back to the early days of Smallville, when it was possible to be hopeful that Lex might beat his "destiny" as "the villain". Only your story is better than the real thing, because this is kinda like an alternate reality version of the show where Chloe and Lex were the stars... as they should've been. :)

You did a great job writing both their "voices"...I got completely lost in what was happening and believed it. The character development seemed natural too. I love how you wrote them bonding in such a sweet but believable way, and I think you really proved that Chloe's the best kind of friend (or girlfriend) Lex could have. Someone capable of both accepting *and* challenging him, and who doesn't really care about his wealth/status/reputation as a Luthor. Someone he could be himself with... maybe *find* himself with... different facets of himself he didn't even know existed. Like you said, "guy-ishly cute. Who knew?" I'll never forget your "sheepish", muddy Lex. :)

Loved all their conversations... in the cornfield... about the tractor... Lex understanding and appreciating Chloe, makes me very happy. :) Of course one of my fav moments is Chloe warning Lex away from Lana due to her probable "man-luring meteor-caused mutant powers" ...Ha! Definitely something that should've been canon. It makes so much sense, and would've saved the show in the long run. :P Thank you for creating this! Very memorable ending too. :)

Six years after giving up on Smallville, and eight years after reading "I Drive the Car" and "You'd Better Not Go Down to the Woods Today" for the first time, these two are still my favorite fics of all time. They're clever, funny, beautifully written, seem (strangely enough) far more in character than the characters on the show, and well worth reading a dozen times over. Thank you for writing these, really - I've turned to them on many lousy days and they never fail to make me happy. :)

This was fantastically fun and exactly why I loved the characters of Smallville early on. Sufficient snark and action here to entertain anyone with nicely meta humor.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I liked the mix of lightness and groundedness. It was entertaining, but there wee also nice insights about the characters and living in Smallville. And the Chloe-Lex interaction was LOVE.

Query: Is anything you've written not amazing? First you write my favorite series of Firefly fics and then I stumble over you again while seeking Chloe/Lex stories and am more than pleased. I've pass this fic onto friends to read. Perfectly pitched relationship.

OMG THIS WAS SO ADORABLE!

I can't believe I didn't review this story before. I love the way Chloe talks Lex into going with her. He's so serious at first and she's just determined and their chemistry is LOVELY HERE! I love how she is so blunt and straight forward that she even makes Lex laugh. Not only does she make him laugh but she got him to wear her Lucky Surreptitious Investigation beanie! This story made me laugh and squeal and they had their moments. I know it was mostly Chlex friendship but they get along together so well here I can't help but wish for a sequal and maybe a little bit of flirting *wink*

OMG, I really think that I have never read a funnier Smallville story than this one. I kept stopping to laugh and snort and spit water at my monitor. Honestly, funniest thing ever! Thanx so much for the laughs, you rock!

Omg, I love this! The "I don't like corn" bit made me laugh so hard, because I swear I've said that somewhere before! I love the way you've written this, with the cute little comments, "Lex Luthor could by guy-ishly cute. Who knew?" I knew!

I loved this - especially the humor. Found it a while ago on Chemistry, then noticed it here and felt obligated to review - you definitely have a way with words, and your ability to keep the characters in character while not doing very in-character-like-things is amazing. Also, I liked the "Useful Guy" thing.
