Guest chapter 12 . 12/18/2018 I've just re-read this beautiful, tenderly-written story. Thank you so much (again). |
Cutebeekeeper chapter 12 . 12/1/2016 This was really a lovely glimpse into Jane's thought processes during this arc. His loneliness, his ability to cover his emotions, his kind regard for his colleagues. You have done a beautiful job of showing us more of what we could have been, but were not, shown. Bravo! |
mayzee chapter 12 . 11/30/2016 Lovely conclusion to the series, I've enjoyed it immensely. Your love for the characters shines through in your writing as always. Thank you for gracing us with your talent. |
Rosepeony chapter 12 . 11/28/2016 I really appreciate that you've been fair to both characters in this piece, their relationship is a complicated one but when it comes down to it, there is a level of respect and trust ( yes, even Lisbon does trust Jane with the important things) for each other that overrides the teasing and sniping. We so rarely get to see that in ff. I was so pleased that you showed Jane as a compassionate and even responsible man in the end, if we discount the morphine incident which was I guess his extreme version of pragmatism and absolutely in character, because we know deep down he is. And also pleased to see Lisbon leaning on Jane ... light trance or not ;) , and that it cuts both ways. |
Hayseed Socrates chapter 12 . 11/27/2016 I'm very sorry this one has come to an end. This is one of my favorite arcs in The Mentalist and you have done an excellent job fleshing it out. I found the scene involving gathering of Bosco's effects especially moving (having done that for a coworker in the past). Delicately handled and pitch perfectly in character. Thanks for this writing this piece. I enjoyed it very much and loved the little lilt of hope at the end. That soft shoe would resurface someday. |
French Pumpkin chapter 12 . 11/27/2016 Thank you so much for this series! And what a great final chapter! Very delicate yet painful and sad at the same time, but so true to character! I enjoyed this series immensely, I will read it again ( and again) with lots of pleasure, just like the rest of your writing! Waiting for an update on Wild Card now and maybe, greedy that I am, something else? Like a tag? Or a one shot? Or a letter to Teresa? In any case, your writing is amazingly good. Thank you. |
cumberland river relic chapter 12 . 11/26/2016 I liked how you depicted the opening scene in the darkened office and the conversation between Jane and Lisbon and also enjoyed your spot-on descriptions like “edge of the abyss.” Also, your description of a life boiling down to “odds and ends” added to the somber feeling of the scene. Your transition into the banter after their looking at the old picture of Lisbon was natural – you captured both Lisbon and Jane’s voices well. Then at the end, your getting into Jane’s thoughts about what had transpired put the perfect ending on both the chapter and the story. This is more of your fine writing! |
Guest chapter 12 . 11/26/2016 Many thanks for a cleverly written, wonderful series. Watching each episode again, the experience has been enhanced by your insight. |
ReadingVoraciously chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 It was a real pleasure to read this story spanning the momentous Bosco arc, one of my favorite to rewatch. Great writing and story! |
inkstainedfingers97 chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 Aw, lovely chapter. I thought the previous chapter was the last one, so this was a pleasant holiday surprise. I liked Jane taking care of her, the hypnotism/reminder that there are still people who love her. And the reference to the soft-shoe. :) |
FiascoWay chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 Wonderful conclusion. Lots of insight and wisdom. Lisbon feeling like she needs to fight for anything worthwhile feels absolutely true. The realisation that neither of them would ever reach out for the other also makes complete sense. I loved Jane being sneaky enough to plant a suggestion that Lisbon call him after a nightmare and of course she hides the reason for making that call. The part with the old photo of Lisbon hidden in the drawer was so well handled. Both of them knew what was going on but neither had to say anything. Thank you so much for this story, it's the treatment the most interesting arc in TM deserved. |
LouiseKurylo chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 A worthy accompaniment to the excellent Bosco arc. You've enriched the episodes with your insights. All the characters were very much true to themselves. Bosco was a particularly nice job, a real person with virtues and flaws, generosity and pettiness. Your Jane was a done to a "T": Non-linear and unique. The only consolation for the "Complete" on this fic is the pleasant hope for another story. Thank you. |
half agony and hope chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 The banter between Jane and Lisbon here is my favorite part of this chapter - you write it so well. Thanks for the update, and for this fic. I've enjoyed it immensely! |
Thorntons chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 This should have happened it just feels so right. I've loved this series from start to finish, you've really encapsulated the feel of the time and got under the skin of the characters. The hypnotising with the twist in the tale is just perfection. It was one of the best story arcs of TM and the way you have fleshed it out really enhances it. Thanks so much for writing this, hope you will consider taking on some other story arcs in the future. |
Entwife Incognito chapter 12 . 11/25/2016 Great chapter and great ending! Loved the banter here. They're so funny and sweet. Thanks for the story! |
