Yeah, the flower and Marianne's eyeshadow are both that weird but pretty purple-blue color. I see it as a mixture of both but lean towards purple.

What happened to ch 28? This is shaping up to be a great story, not an epic love story but there's plenty of good stories that have a slow strong build of romance, heck the world probably would be better if there were more of these kinds of stories.

I figured that Roland was singing Gaston's song. It fits him as well.

A person's fighting style reveals a lot about theirselves, that's probably one of the reasons I enjoyed reading Engaged in combat, where Bog and Marianne met after she called off the wedding and he wound up teaching her how to fight over the next year. Most of their friendship and subtly falling in love was built on their being sparing partners and talking to each other.

The flower looked dark blue nearly black to me , actually my mind usually labels it as black.

That line is probably the funniest part of the movie , everyone trying to get out, Griselda's legs are trapped and she just lays there thinking of the past and how hot she use to be for a moment.

The Story is good and interesting I hope you will continue it at some Point.

Hi not a review but a question but what is it with buttercups? This is not the first I have heard of it but none seem to explain why they are an issue with Marianne.

Actual thoughts this is a great story, each of the characters has development and the inclusion of politics adds to the realism of the situation they are in.

I only actually saw Strange Magic for the first time a few weeks ago and now, not only is the soundtrack a firm favourite of mine (Marianne's rendition of Stronger is epic!) and while the different animation was something I'm still getting used to I really love the story.

The (main) Princess finding out her betrothed is a git right before she marries him but instead of wallowing in self-pity or begging him to reunite she rebuilds herself with a stone wall around her heart.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is her sister (Dawn) who is literally flitting between which crush she has seemingly on a whim while innocently naive of her best friend loving her.

The third part of this trifecta is of course Bog King, who pretty much banned love after his own bad experience and ends up the unfortunate victim of a love-poisoned Dawn and while trying to get the antidote along with Marianne ends up finding first a respected opponent then eventually love interest.

Honestly for a long time while watching I was wondering if Dawn would really love Bog King ... now I realise how stupid that was and I'm really happy Marianne and Dawn both got their metaphorical princes (though I did feel SUPER sorry for the poor bug that Rowland fell in love ith at the end)!

The movie was a great way to shake up the 'normal llve story' trope and I love it so much! Okay now that I've sung my praises for the movie I can move to the proper review:

As soon as I clocked on to what your fic was about I pretty much binge-read this whole story from chapter 1 to 27! Your story was actually what I thought was going to happen until Dawn got dusted and kidnapped. It's fun seeing how you portrayed Marianne while she is 'love sick' and while still funny she's not as OTT as Dawn was.

As the elder sister (and Warrior Princess) I get the feeling Marianne would indeed want and try to put the needs of her people before anything else so for her to think abut building bridges between their kingdoms while simultaneously being smitten with Bog? I just found this really clever (her bonding time with Griselda was just too fun also) and I really liked reading it.

Seeing Roland get properly punished for this entire mess is brilliant, though I wonder will he stay love-poisoned for the whole fic? Or will they just show him a mirror to break the spell? Haha! :D

The prejudices between the goblins, fae and elves was something else too and again you did this so well that while I normally hate political aspects put into these fics I stayed interested so paid attention to it all!

Near the end, one of the parts that got me most was your pointing out how Marianne is pretty much the only female 'soldier' we've seen and you're right, I'm sure if trained right the women could kick as much ass as the men!

Most of all one of the things I'm happiest with is how Marianne told Dagda (sorry if I spelt the father's name wrong) what happened with Rowland. Something that floored me in the movie was how her father wanted Marianne to get back with Rowland despite what he did to his daughter ... then I wonder did Marianne, not wanting to be seen as weak due to her 'awakening' never tell what happened and just let everyone make assumptions? I'm of the belief that the King never knew what happened but I'm still surprised he tried to push his daughter to someone when her feelings changed so quickly. You gave this part closure and that's one of the most satisfying parts of your fic.

Well-written, believable, good song placements when called for ... I could go on and on but simply put: I love this story and will be really looking forward to the next chapter!
