Hades Lord of the Dead chapter 2 . 4/29
Loved this!
servant123 chapter 2 . 7/9/2015
Excellent job. I really enjoyed this little story and you did a great job adding interest with all the little details, like lighting the candles, or Merlin's stargazing, for instance. It helped to build a setting that I can picture existing outside of what happened in the story and added interest as well as imagery. Keep up the good work, I look forward to reading more from you soon!

AAAHH YAY, A HAPPY ENDING! Thanks for sharing; I certainly wasn't expecting the first chapter's ending :0
zendog chapter 2 . 6/27/2015
A beautiful and poignant epilogue. Elegant and restrained yet full of emotion and truth. I especially enjoyed the idea of keeping Merlin silent as for once he was unable to interrupt and deny his importance.
April29Roses chapter 2 . 6/27/2015
I loved the intense emotion of this epilogue, and I really enjoyed Gwaine's point of view. I especially liked how he told Merlin immediately of how difficult time without him had been. His description of Arthur, and how distraught he had been over realizing Merlin was surely dead, was absolutely classic! In typical Merlin fashion, our warlock doesn't quite get what has happened and keeps apologizing... but as I said in my last review...What could be better than your life restored?! An absolutely wonderful ending to this lovely nugget of angst and relief and a happy ending too!
April29Roses chapter 1 . 6/27/2015
There is a wonderful fey poetry in this chapter, that echoes from the opening Latin vespers, all the way to the end, to Arthur's grateful tears. All Soul's, the traditional day of the dead, honored in Catholic memory, is the day Arthur finds himself declaring his best friend officially dead. The grief and pure tragedy of that moment were clear in every action of Arthur's, and of his knights. When the king moved the candles in, out of the rain, I found myself wondering... Was that the brush of magic making itself known, or a foreshadowing of hope. Arthur's confession and the wise words of the abbot were gripping, so replete with mercy. The dawning realization of the confessor was simply a pleasure to read. And then, like Arthur, my heart was sure it HAD to be Merlin. Beautifully written, my friend. How ironic, impossible and lovely for Arthur to find his life restored, when all he wanted was prayers for the dead.

maldru chapter 1 . 6/16/2015
What a beautiful, heart warming story! The brilliant and authentic(as usual) detailing makes the scene so vivid, the feelings so tangible - I can't help but find myself there, seeing everything with my own eyes. Why does Arthur's angsting over Merlin give us that balmy feeling, makes it such an enjoyable read -can you explain ?
Please, please keep writing!
