This made me laugh aloud several times. I love how you write their friendship - it just seems so real! You have a way with words to that bring the images to life for me. Wonderful little story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love the image of them laughing like boys at the end. A great read, it was a bit like two childhood friends on summer or spring break out on an adventure in the forest and talking about random things that children are apt to do. :)

I have said this way too often to you, but I truly feel awful for always taking an eternity to visit your updates and new works. Which makes it even worse is that it actually makes me happy to have a story alert from you in my in-box but then I always want to give your stories the attention they do deserve and well... that's what comes of it. But then again, late is better than never. I hope.

Anyway, so as for this little gem: I truly love it. It's utterly beautiful, serene and just the right thing to read when your spirits lifted. Your characterisations, as always, are spot-on and amazing and I won't ever cease to adore the friendship that you draw between Elf and Dwarf.
I was just telling a friend from another fandom how to me you are writing the best Gimli-Legolas-friendship stories on all of FFN and I see that confirmed in this anniversary fic.

I cannot believe it has already been two years though. Time certainly flies by! But I am grateful to have stumbled across your works back then because even if nowadays I have only few opportunities to indulge in visiting your LotR world, I enjoy ever single minute of doing so.

Your picturesque language is as marvellous as ever and I am looking forward to reading the other two anniversary pieces.

Such a cute story! The line where Legolas tells Gimli to move because he looked like he was on fire was perfect. That fits your Legolas so well. So does his lamenting that mortals change so frequently. It's no wonder that he wants to spend so much time with Gimli while he still can.

Is it nuts of me to think that Ionwe and Thranduil might actually be willing to spar to indulge Legolas? ;)

I absolutely, unequivocally, love Gimli and Legolas' friendship and I think the way you portray it in this short piece is brilliant. Legolas is both an elfling and an elder at the same time. Gimli...*sighs*...well, he's just amazing, least in here. The movies always made him seem more comedy relief, but here he's noble, strong, and kind. Me like.

Hawkeye: *groans* You would.
Tam: *starts* What the...! What're you doing here? You're an Avenger, stay in your own verse!
Hawkeye: *snorts* You wrote me in, sweetheart.
Tam: *blinks* Oh...yeah...I'm weird...
Hawkeye: *shrugs* I wasn't going to say anything -
Tam: *glares* And if you value your life you still won't. *sighs* Sorry about that. *shakes her head* These Avengers won't give me a break.

What a beautiful story! I loved it, the easy friendship between these two. A lovely interlude from the darkness of "Silence"
I especially liked your description of the elves and time. That Legolas takes two days to answer a question. His frustration with Mortals changing faces. Sometimes he must feel as though he is in a different time zone and his mortal friends are all moving in fast forward around him.
