Sorry for not reviewing Maria Hill's story. It was great - I especially loved the banter - but I was seven minutes late.

This is a bit different to your usual style - but you wrote it in the summary: time in Hawkeye's head. And yep, that's him alright. Worrying about Natasha, except not really, because she can take care of herself. Missing her, more likely. Thinking over the tentative friendship he and Maria are forming. Wondering how anyone ever could betray everything he ever worked for. Briefly flashed to all the other Avengers, and what they would be doing.

One of the tensest moments was the one when the child appeared. I'm as glad as Hawkeye was that it was a neighbour's child.

And, most of all: I love the idea of an invisible shield. And Clint's idea of freedom, though I'd have added a few words more.

I had a horrible thought today, hit me during work like a brick: what will happen to your Clint and Natasha when they find themselves on the opposite sides during Civil War? Currently, that's the worst outcome I can imagine *cries in a corner*. For their relationship, at least. Oh well. I don't know whether your stories reach until there. I'll find out!

And finally getting a chance to read this one - an absolutely brilliant companion piece to Safe House. Stark, unsentimental, complex and very human. An intriguing, thought-provoking read.

I love how you write Clint, you really get inside his head and let us hear all his crazy thoughts lol
from him deciding what angle to shoot his target from to thinking what he should have for dinner. I also love the relationship he has developed with Hill. I didn't like her so much in the beginning but now she is kinda growing on me ;)

Different form of justice, class warfare in petty exclusion, Vietnamese food and numb butts: a balanced and unbalancing mixture of the profound and the mundane.
"And don't hold anyone else accountable for lousy desions you make yourself." - is sadly a difficult precept for many to follow.
"You don't have to be super to do your bit." - one can hope for a more thoughtful reaction than nodding wisely and reading on.
