Sorceress of Magic chapter 2 . 1/12/2019 Aw poor astoria |
Adriene SC chapter 1 . 3/29/2016 Uuuuuh! Give me more! Interesting and really good! More more more! |
OrphndAcct chapter 1 . 6/14/2014 Wow. Such an amusing ordeal! Draco having an affair with Charlie and loving every moment of it. This guarantees that he's gay and will let go of Astoria. Xd Charlie is so lovely. |
MissingMommy chapter 1 . 5/6/2014 So I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to review such a great piece. First of all, it's Charlie/Draco, and it's wonderful. I don't think anyone really understands how much I love this pairing. Honestly, I have to admit that I was a little wary at first. I'm not the biggest fan of cheating type fics, but my thoughts are if he marries Astoria, that he wasn't really in love with her. So I decided to read on, and I was amazed by this. It was definitely worth reading on. I really like the start of the story. It was definitely more light-hearted and airy. And I particularly laughed at the parts where Draco was practically telling himself to calm down. It really fits with his character. [Draco didn't know what was worse - what they'd done, the fact that he didn't oppose the situation, or the fact that he liked it] - I laughed at this line. And I could totally see Draco doing this. The part where Draco tried to tell Charlie that he had been taken advantage of was interesting. And I love how Charlie reacted to it. I love how Charlie just looked at him amused and not even bothered by the fact, really. It really seems like a Charlie thing to do. So that was handled very nicely and I liked that. And I think my favorite part of this was the way that the conversation about Astoria and the fact that Draco was cheating was handled. I don't know what it is about the way that you handled it, but it was good. I think I really enjoyed the fact that Draco wasn't even sure why he cheated. It puts cheating more in perspective for me. Charlie was wonderful characterized. I really enjoyed his sense of humor and how he didn't take everything seriously. The mention of a Dragon being his lady was great. The ending was lovely. I like how Draco just kind of gave up all pretenses and gives into what he really wants. It really fits in with my headcanon for the two - Charlie makes Draco just lose all control. Thank you so much for this. I really did enjoy this! |
reminiscent-afterthought chapter 1 . 5/1/2014 Interesting start; I love how you start with the first something, implying a lot more is coming. It’s odd to see a capital after the colon though; it’s still in the middle of e a sentence so shouldn’t it be lower case? The tone is very interesting as well, very misleading with the title but very entertaining to read. And the way it twists from something potentially horror to something more interpersonal is gorgeous as well. I think my favourite is the third realisation, particularly with relation to the pacing you’ve provided. Very clever. “the fact that he didn’t oppose the situation, or the fact that he liked it” is a little redundant; I’d stick to just the second part of that sentence since it comes out stronger. Charlie in respect to Draco is quite interesting too, particularly in the circumstance we didn’t find them in in canon, so can’t expect them to act like they normally do. Draco’s reasoning and counterreasoning follows quite nicely too, and by starting with the morning after, you strip away the passion from the night before. Very interesting structure…and the discussion that follows is lovely too. "It was a pleasure" - interesting choice of words, Charlie. :D |
DolbyDigital chapter 1 . 4/29/2014 I loved this! And the ending was absolutely perfect. I really love your characterisations in this; their brief relationship is very believable and I would love to see how that breakfast went. I liked how Draco was struggling with denial and trying to convince himself that it meant nothing, and I loved the added comedy in this and the banter between them. I also really liked the inclusion of the dragon. This was really well written and I didn't notice any spelling or grammar mistakes. |
Lillielle chapter 1 . 4/29/2014 Aaaaah, that ENDING! :D Oh, I love this. (Although I am slightly annoyed because Draco could be bi, not gay and unfaithful. :/ But ahem.) This just seems so perfectly in character for both of them, Draco's awkwardness around waking up with a man, his inner thoughts, everything, and then for him to find out that Charlie doesn't even know his name, oh my god. XD I loved it. |
Lara1221 chapter 1 . 4/28/2014 It seems that because of Sam's love for CharlieDraco I've been reading so many of these stories lately and frankly the ship is growing on me, this when is no exception. The comedy is done really well and really helps the piece move along; I love the exchange between them. Both Drago and Charlie's snark is awesome. I didn't catch any typos, and I loved the style of this story (perspective, flow, word choice). Nice. |
MelodyPond77 chapter 1 . 4/28/2014 LOL I spent the entire time reading this laughing my ass off. Charlie and Draco are just such an unexpected pairing for me that whenever I read them, I can't help but giggle. But you wrote it very well. I really enjoyed it. Charlie's sassiness was beautiful, and I loved how he managed to one-up Draco all the time. That was so amazing. You've done an amazing job. :) |
The Dreaming Hare chapter 1 . 4/27/2014 I liked your characterization of both Draco and Charlie, although the infidelity did bother me. I thought you really captured an excellent post-one-night-stand moment, and it was really entertaining! I loved that Charlie had no idea who Draco was, and his casual response to the revelation. The ending was interesting, but was really open-ended! |
Jenrukiforevz chapter 1 . 4/27/2014 Oh gosh. Where do I begin? For starters, I don't really like slash. Especially when they well... You know. Still, this was written well, the characterization was spot on, and the ending was great. So, overall, it was pretty good. It wasn't my cup of tea (see what I did there?), but it was nice anyways. |
autumn midnights chapter 1 . 4/23/2014 I love the snark and sarcasm in this. The banter between the two of them is absolutely wonderful; I can't even pick out my favorite line in this, because I have so many - ["You can call me Charlie." "I can also call you Weasley."], ["I never thought a Weasley would admit to bestiality. That's weird, even for you."], ["Fuck you, Weasley." "It was the other way around, actually."] and probably a few more but those are the first three I spotted. I really loved the realism of this - how it wasn't like 'omg we had a one night stand and now it's true love when we wake up'. This makes so much more sense; I can actually picture something like this happening. The ending is hopeful, but it's not a promise of forever. It was really nice to see a fic that had a more mature way of looking at a relationship. Going along the same line, I like how you didn't make Astoria a complete bitch whom Draco is being forced to marry, or something like that. This one was fun to read too - great job! I love reading your stories &hearts. |
Safari chapter 1 . 4/21/2014 I like how very aware and in-the-moment these characters are. I applaud you for effectively writing this present-moment in past-tense. I don't know how exactly you did it, but I think it deserves to be noted :) Your characterisations of Draco was spot-on. The way you retained Draco's character while adding an air of maturity post!war was absolutely great. Charlie's personality, on the other hand, seemed more interpretative than concrete. I can imagine him acting in this manner but I cannot really merge his actions and dialogue with JK's canon. I also could not connect with the theme of infidelity because I have not experienced that in my lifetime. However, my lack of intrigue is not entirely due to your writing. I like the conciseness of your voice and the precise control you have over your diction and sentence structure. Very admirable, indeed. xoxo wouldtheywriteasongforyou |
Ralinde chapter 1 . 4/19/2014 For some reason, I have a soft spot for the-awkward-morning-after-an-unusual-one-night-stand. I don't know, it just creates so much dynamic between two characters and I like that. It feels to me like Draco was very much in character. This shows particularly in the 'Because he was a Weasley, because he was a man, just because.' In that order. He's not so much upset that he's slept with the man as with the fact that he's slept with a Weasley. You've gotten him down very well. We don't know much about Charlie, but he sounded /in character/ as well, if that even makes sense. 'A gentleman has no memory.' That's a great line. I also liked Charlie's relaxed ways, he does seem that kind of person. |
Maleday chapter 1 . 4/11/2014 Good job with this. You seemed to keep the characters IC nicely. I liked how you didn't put any blame on Astoria for Draco's infidelity. You didn't make her character cheap or insignificant which is so often done when characters cheat. Also you didn't make Draco bitter or disappointed about going home to Astoria, just simply appreciative of the time he had with Charlie. I appreciated that and found it realistic. Besides that aspect, the story seems a bit typical. (Waking up in an unknown bed with someone and facing the consequences/reality of that.) But you made up for that with the interesting characteristics that show up and references to Astoria. Also I liked that you didn't make them fall madly into desperate, inseparable love, but a more realistic "hey that wasn't bad, I kinda like you" thing. I think you included the perfect amount of emotion, not too much or too little. |
