![]() Author has written 4 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh. Look, I'll be quite frank here: I suck at writing There, I said it, now don't read anything I write. It's true though, I have never gotten an A on any piece of writing that I ever turn in. If I get a B, I die from shock. But enough of telling you about how much I suck, let me tell you about myself: I'm generally quite awesome and the BPS forum's resident ninja. I'm also a genius, and my ego can rival Seto Kaiba's. Just not in writing. More in the mathy sciency areas, since I want to be an engineer. I do love to read though, which is why I have an account here. Spirithorse sends me pretty much everything she writes and I pseudo-beta for her even though shes amazing enough by herself. I've recently fallen hard for the Code Geass fandom and read lots of Suzalulu when I can't find my OTP, Schneizel/Kanon. I've somewhat fallen out of the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, but I do consider myself a Puzzleshipper. Aside from that, I reads tons of HP/DM, but it's hard to find decent fics in the HP fandom. My life in general is ok at the moment. I'm in the color guard (the people that run around with flags with the marching band) at the University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks! I'm studying to become a Biomedical Engineer, and before you ask, it's a combination of Mechanical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, and a medical degree crammed into one happy undergrad program. I prefer to be isolated, and I don't have very much of a social life. Surprisingly, I work at a movie theater back home, but I haven't seen very many movies. On the interwebs I am a happy person and always willing to make new friends, which is also true in RL, but there are more idiots in RL. Some of my pet peeves whilst reading a fic are when the author doesn't take the time to edit for basic grammar/spelling rules (come on people, SPELL CHECK) and when the action skips from place to place without any sort of indication to a scene change. No, I'm not much of a writer, but if you would like a competent editor that can give story advice, shoot me a PM. I'm currently betaing Teenie's (s2Teennovelist) 'Frost King' which you can find in the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom. I'll try to figure out how to link it at some point... Something I stole from my BPS peeps: 1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, mp3 players, cars, and air conditioning. 2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. 5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed. 6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. 7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America. 9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children. 10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans... Re-post this if you believe in legalizing gay marriage. Anyways, that about sums me up. But I will reiterate: I FAIL AT WRITING! so don't expect much of anything good in that department... My (really bad yet published) Stories: No Air: Ok...so somehow I was having a creative week and managed to write an omelet. If you feel like reading it, that's up to you, but I am not going to recommend it. I would recommend listening to the song No Air by Jordin Sparks, my inspiration. It has so much more emotion than what I feel like I put into it. I Can't Be Who You Are: sort of a tendershipping-ish omelet, written from Ryou's perspective over his experiences in dealing with Bakura when he first got the ring, and once Bakura leaves his mind. Inspired by both the song 'Leave Out All The Rest' by Linkin Park, and The Hostby Stephenie Meyer. (That book is seriously amusing, and the central character sounds a lot like my favorite pairing) THe idea just kind of hit me, and I know there could have been a lot more to it, but filler doesn't work with me. Rain: a little drabble based off of Spirit's cliche challenge, the one that no one voted for, but basically: Yami reflects on an incident that left him alone with his daughter in the pouring rain. Character Death, Puzzleshipping. You might need tissues, I dunno. By the way, stop trying to make me feel better about my writing. I would rather people be honest and tell me it was ok, but there is a lot to be improved than tell me it was good. My stories are not good, so don't lie to me. Thanks! Much luffles, ~Espi |
