Hello,

I seem to be older in years than many fanfiction writers but I am young in fanfiction experience. Reading Half Blood Prince sent me into Potter withdrawal. Usually when I go into withdrawal after a Potter-fix I re-read the earlier books; this time, I went on the internet, desperately seeking interaction from other readers; about the Snape story-line in particular. Purely by accident I came across fanfiction and read some brilliant Snape stories all night until dawn. After that it was a short step to writing them.

I like writing Snape/Hooch fiction because I can work on two different skills.

Snape -The challenge for me is to try to keep him canonical but show what I find attractive about his character. His point of view is sorely missed and he has no advocate apart from Dumbledore. Obviously Snape doesn't know about the internet and all of us!

Hooch - The challenge here is to take a bare-bones character and try to add personality and internal dialogue, making her real. In the context of Snape/Hooch it gives me the freedom to explore one of the many kinds of women who might find him attractive and one of the many kinds of women he might be attracted to.

Finally, I seem to be one of the few who find Snape attractive whilst also finding Sirius attractive. I hope to write some Sirius fics soon. Most that I have been able to find are slash or have him wife-stealing. Before you flame me... I have a lot of gay friends and they don't see him as gay either! I'm just as entitled to write a Sirius het fic as you are to write a Sirius slash.
