Author has written 7 stories for Clash of the Titans, 2010, Greek Mythology, Devil May Cry, and Assassin's Creed. I'm putting in a disclaimer here: DISCLAIMER! (disclaimer over) I am a writer. I do not think I'm the best writer out there, but with the amount of work I put into research for my stories, I hope that it counts for something. (Effort and hard work is appreciated right?) I am also a purist when it comes for following canon on any fandom. If I change anything, it is mostly little things to do with characters or settings. I am a history fanatic. I write historical fiction (with an occasional Devil May Cry fic) and fanfiction. I am working on publishing a book now dealing with the early 20th century (mostly about my grandmother's time as a girl in the 30's and 40's) so yeah. I am busy. I am also in college. I am an older college student (I graduated high school in 2006) and I have been writing fanfiction since 2001 (I prefer never to go back to those days as I was not the polished writer that I am now and I use that term lightly because I know I can always improve). I have seen and read some things. Some of these things I have no words in any of the languages I know that can describe them, however, I am not going to discourage anyone from improving. My ultimate goal is to teach. I have learned a lot over the years about story structure, plot, character building, world building, and of course everything that goes with it. I am so passionate about this stuff that my minor in college is Creative Writing. I do not like asking for reviews! I do ask that people comment if they see something I need to correct, but I don't really care about reviews. Favorites and Follows are probably more important to me. Don't get me wrong, I like reviews and I love engaging with readers (I will reply to ever review and every PM). I think I've only asked for a review once and that was because I wasn't sure about something...(please note I am very critical of myself and I do have high functioning anxiety and depression so I tend to put myself down a lot. Sometimes I have a lot of inner conflict with myself on certain things). Reviews good or bad are accepted. I have rewritten entire stories just to fix something that a reader has pointed out in the past. As for criticism...I welcome it. How else is one to improve if they do not know what they are doing wrong. I refuse to be blind to my mistakes. I know that at the end of the day, every story I write is my brain child. What you read is what you get, which means do not ask me to do a certain thing which I know will mess up the story I am trying to tell. That is like me going in your room and rearranging your furniture after you have told me not to. It's just a bad move. That being said, if I am doing writing prompts, then yes, suggest away. I think of them as a challenge. But if I am writing something I have outlined already, do not expect me to change it at your whim because you do not like the story I am telling. You can however, make a note of it and question me about the decisions I make. I will do my best to explain why I made those decisions (Keep in mind I do a hell of a lot of thinking to cover my bases since I prefer to not make plot holes) and how they are impacting the characters/story/plot. I do encourage questions! Please question everything! I am not going to give you all the answers because it may give away the twist or the ending (because that is what story telling is all about). Here are some things I enforce within my stories. Conflict: A story without conflict is boring. There are different kinds of conflict that help build that narrative or story. The first is internal conflict. Internal conflict mostly pertains to the character or characters that you have established. A good example of internal conflict is a choice and the outcomes of the choice that the character makes. The thought that goes into making that choice and the emotional consequences that come with the decision. The second is external conflict. External conflict is everything that is put in the path of your character. It can be another character, a quest, an object, basically anything that causes your character distress but doesn't come from emotions. Using these conflicts can help build your character (even established ones from your favorite fandom and I do suggest putting them through a lot of internal and external conflicts while keeping them in character) into a strong, but flawed, person. You want your character to feel like an actual human being (or animal) that you can relate too and conflict can do that. Realism: I love realism. Even when writing a fantasy story there has to be an element of realism to make the story grounded and immersive. This also goes back to conflict, but at the end of the day, your character has to be relatable. All those thoughts and emotions that your character has needs to be real. This goes for writing mental illness too. Research your subject and put it into the story subtly so you don't blind side anyone with it. This mostly goes for OC's, but you can do this with established characters as well (This is where that conflict comes into play) but the most important thing to remember is that your character is human. They aren't perfect (Sorry Mary Sue's) and they make bad choices. Put thought into the relationships between your characters and ground them in their reality (so if your character is in 15th century Italy, make sure they speak and act as they would in that time) and limited by that. Realism is just another way to push boundaries. Education: As a historical fiction writer, I like to put things in that make readers want to go and look things up. The real story is influenced by the events of the past (I really believe that history is the blueprints of the future) and of course if you are into fandoms like Assassin's Creed or anything pertaining to a period drama, then you definitely want to get your history right. DO play around with history, but do your research. You can totally get away with rewriting the outcome of a battle because your character decided to time travel and stop a cannon from blowing up a statue or something. You can totally do that! It's called a What If. I highly encourage this! CURRENT STORIES! The Medici Girl: Reluctance - Complete! Assassin's Creed II story that will link up with Eternum (Eventually when I get around to it) The Medici Girl - Complete! Assassin's Creed II - Will have a sequel and has a series of unpublished one-shots at the moment. This story links to The White Rose of Paris (But I'm not telling you how : P ) The White Rose of Paris - Assassin's Creed Unity - I'm still working on this one and it has a lot of plot and story. I may as well explain what the heck I was thinking with this one. Okay so, I played the game when it first came out. I recently decided I'm going to play it again (and I assume I am one of the few people who really loves this game mistakes and all) and well...I just finished reading Alexandre Dumas' Three Musketeers (and watched the BBC series on Hulu which is really good) for the 18th time. Seeing the E3 trailer for the game (the first time) I honestly thought that they were going to have the three other assassins in that trailer as supporting characters and it would be like the musketeers, but nope! So I thought, why not? I can add as many characters as I want (and technically those assassins are canon, but they just don't have names or personalities and they are also played by random people in co-op) so why not go nuts. I also wanted to add in some romantic conflict for Arno (Lets face it, I don't like Elise. I think she is a great character on her own, but when coupled with Arno, she takes a lot away from him) so I created an OC for that (It's up in the air on whether they get together or not) My goal for that is to boost Arno up, but not totally change his character (because why would anyone do that? it's disgraceful!) but anyway, I will just let you guys read the story and come up with your own conclusions. I have a tumblr blog where you can follow along with the updates to any of my stories! Sometimes I even post character bios and sometimes I post helpful writing tips! https:///blog/eponastory |
