However, after meeting Elizabeth he longs for something more and finally has the impetus to be his own man. Aided by Bingley and Georgiana, he must overcome the opposition of Edwin (the Colonel) and Lady C., and his own fear to gain his HEA. Fully revised; part I of III.

An alternate imagining of Mrs. Gaskell's story, assuming Margaret had been hurt more seriously on the day of the riot. Intertwines elements of both the book and the BBC series, but focuses less on angst and more on the relationship of John and Margaret. Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, but am only presuming to borrow them for a while.

What if Jane and Elizabeth had not been in Meryton to meet Wickham? What if they had spent some additional time with Darcy and Bingley that day instead? And what if in a moment of weakness, or courage, Darcy allowed Elizabeth to glimpse his growing feelings for her? How might all of their paths have been different from the story we know and love?

So the title is self-explanatory. The story is about our two favourite people falling in love.

The only downside to Lizi's summer job, at the shore, is the restaurant's snobby owner. Maybe if Darcy had read Pride and Prejudice, he wouldn't be making the same mistakes as his namesake. Then again, Lizi has read it and still fails to consider there may be more to Darcy than her first impression. Nor does she recognize his growing attraction to her.

A modern retelling. Margaret Hale leaves her rural hometown to join her parents in the industrial city of Milton, Maine. Amidst her mother's failing health and her father's crisis of faith, she meets John Thornton, the mercurial owner of Malborough Electrics.

A what if fan fiction. What if when John asks Mrs. Thornton to speak to Margaret about the incident at Outwood Station, Margaret is more forthcoming about the Hale family secret?

An alternate ending to the story "Two Hearts as One". Margaret and Mr. Thornton's relationship has taken a new turn as events in Milton have unfolded. But does this change her actions when her brother appears? (Story begins at chapter 18 of the original story.)

There were many opportunities for Margaret Hale and John Thornton to discover their love for each other sooner than they did. At CHAPTER XL - OUT OF TUNE the happy ending was near... if Mr. Hale paid more attention to Margaret.

Based around the Miniseries as I have not read the book. Different reactions from various characters on John and Margaret's relationship.

Did Mr Thornton ever get his gloves back after that disastrous proposal? This is my take on it! The story is loosely based on the BBC TV series, and the first of a few short chapters. I would be grateful for comments, as this is my first N&S fic. Thanks!

Mr. Thornton covered for Margaret for the "Lennards" incident even though he had seen her at the train station and knew she was lying. If Margartet Hale wasn't such an idiot, this is what would have happened.

The riot incident that occurs at the Marlborough Mills is scrutinised by all. Margret pushes John away, only to regret it later. Alone in London she is given the chance to seek a different life and correct the wrongs she has passed committed.
