Author has written 169 stories for Gravity Falls, Harry Potter, Kill Bill, Star Vs. The Forces of Evil, and Rick and Morty. Note: A timeline of my stories is at the end of the Profile notes here. As of June 2020, I have published 2,380,000 words of Gravity Falls fanfiction. What a trip! 'Nother note: I'm happy when people read my stories. I'm really happy when they like my stories. I'm unhappy when they republish them elsewhere with their own name as the author. Really folks, please don't plagiarize. If anyone sees these anywhere under a name other than William Easley, please PM me. Thanks! Just writing for fun and practice. I don't own these shows, nor any of the characters, and I make no money from writing fanfiction. I am an avid Gravity Falls fan, admiring its complex and dynamic characters, its willingness to confront the true dark places of the human condition ("waiting for the sweet, sweet release of death") coupled with buoyant, exuberant comedy, innate sweetness, tolerance, and optimism. Though I came late to the show and am probably more, um, mature is a good word, than the target audience, I love it. And I geek out over Wendy ("Because I'm a flippin' CORDUROY!"). First ep I ever saw was the first Weirdmageddon show, and I flipped out over how awesome Wendy was. And the twins, all the twins . . . This may be TMI, but I have a twin. It was never born. I absorbed my sibling in the womb, evidently; as an adult I had some medical imaging done once and the doctor asked if I knew I had three working kidneys. I didn't know that, but turns out I do. Two on the right, where the preferred complement is one. And some tissue that must be the remnant of tiny undeveloped bones. I often wonder what my twin would have been like. I like to fantasize that he or she would have been as much fun as Mabel. Anyway. Why do I write this stuff? Especially since I am a certified, bonafide, genuine and everyday off to the salt mines teacher. I mean, I'm old for this game, dudes. But I like writing and reading fan fiction. And I want to get better as a writer. I appreciate every review--even critical ones, if they go beyond "This sucks" and make suggestions about what's wrong and what could be improved. The best way to learn is to fail and to try to do better next time. On the other hand, I like reading positive reviews because egoboo (that sounds like a Christmas drink made of eggs and small cartoon bears) is good for the soul. Little update as of December, 2016: May be bad news for you, I dunno, but--I get a semester off from teaching! Which means that in the spring I'll hang around home, do some research on an academic project of mine, and have lots more time to write fanfiction. And to read more and to watch GF on HULU over an' over an' over. Oh, btw, couple of people have noticed that I go back and revise my early stories. Yup, compulsive about that when I hit some mistake I've made or someone pm's me about one. Fr'instance, my dad had a '73 Dodge Dart that he loved like a brother. I don't know how many times I've heard about that car! Yet somehow my tricky memory made it a '76, and my dad tells me that the slant-6 engine--the engine that refused to die--was phased out that year or the year before. So I've gone back and retrofitted Wendy with my dad's '73 car. He specified--it HAS to be forest green, dudes! Dad hath spoken. Update, summer 2017: My dad is no longer with us, passing last spring after a years-long siege with leukemia. Even in the last few weeks, when he was dreadfully sick, he watched some of the GF shows with me and got a laugh out of them. I told him Wendy was the other woman in my marriage, and he said he could see why. Thanks for everything, Dad. Miss you. Some of you know that in addition to teaching, I also write professional fiction--fiction with my own characters, not those from other folks' universes. I'm working on one now, which will affect my fanfic production for a while. Good news is I should be done with the book by the end of March. Bad news is, I don't yet know how much the publisher's going to offer me for it. If I've kept count correctly, this will be my tenth book. And no, I can't yet tell the title or my real name... And although I'm flattered, I will swear on a stack of Journals that I am NOT Neil Gaiman and NOT Alex Hirsch. C'mon guys, you know better than that! MY FANFICTION TIMELINE: 1. NOT IN THE SEQUENCE: These are sort of non-canon. Or non-my-headcanon, or whatever. One-shots that don't follow the overall arc of most of my stories.
