Likes: Doing stuff on the internet. When I get the motivation to actually sit down and do the work, writing. Anime and manga. Reading interesting books (mostly nonfiction). Video games (though these days that mostly means digital card games). Geeky stuff in general (though I've come to have a complicated relationship with geek culture as a whole). Debating. Philosophy.

Dislikes (in fiction): Anything boring.

Favorite Anime: Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Favorite Book (fiction): A Song of Ice and Fire series, as long as George RR Martin finishes it before he dies.

Favorite Book I've Read Recently: The Conservative Mind (2nd edition), by Corey Robin.

Favorite Book (nonfiction): Eichmann in Jerusalem, by Hannah Arendt.

Favorite Movie: Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Favorite TV Show: I don't really have one; I barely watch Western TV these days.

Favorite Western Cartoon: Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Ships: I don't ship. Not after Harry/Ginny.

Writing Pet Peeves:

1. Having the plot control the characters. There are exceptions, but generally, when the plot and characters fight, the characters should win.

2. Using "orbs" instead of "eyes." There is never ever a justification to do this. Ever.

3. For that matter, describing peoples' emotions through their eyes (e.g. "I could see the anger in Alice's eyes"). Even more annoying because it's so widespread, even in published fiction.

4. Using descriptions instead of names to refer to characters (e.g. "The green-eyed man" instead of "Fred"). Unless the description is relevant to the action being described, this shouldn't happen. If you're using the character's name too much, stick to really short descriptions like "woman" or "boy."

Trapped: Avatar the Last Airbender AU. Intended to be a one-shot, but it's four chapters instead. All chapters posted.

Currently Working on:

The Right to Rule: Rewrite of The Adventures of Avatar Azula. I've currently shifted to a once-every-two-weeks update schedule.

Abandoned:

The Adventures of Avatar Azula: Though as indicated above, this is mainly abandoned because I'm rewriting it.

Ideas (feel free to use any of these):

The Weight of Existence: Neon Genesis Evangelion AU. The Katsuragi Expedition gets delayed, and Second Impact occurs one year later. Look forward to Eva Unit-01 pilot Misato Katsuragi (age 14), Eva Unit-00 pilot Shinji Ayanami, and NERV Commander Yui Ikari!

All Was Well: Harry Potter continuation (as the title might indicate). Rampantly cynical while having very few (if any) character deaths.

Lily Potter series: Another Harry Potter continuation, this time focused on his daughter. Because she seems to get little love from next-gen authors, for some reason. While "All Was Well" would focus on politics, relationships, and cynicism, and be primarily character-driven, this would focus much more on world-building and have a much more important plot. I have a bunch of good ideas but I'm not sure exactly how to write it. I probably wouldn't do a 7-book thing though; maybe just 3 or 4.

Currently Untitled: A Harry Potter Peggy Sue fic (he goes back in time to fix the future), except the body he enters is a gender-swapped version of himself. Also he goes to Slytherin. Yeah, it's an attempt to get something original out of overplayed fandom tropes. _ The main issue is, when thinking about it, I can't decide how much should be a parody and how much should be serious. We'll see if/how it goes.

Code Geass R3: Kallen of the Rebellion: As the title succinctly summarizes, a Code Geass continuation starring Kallen. I think I really have some awesome ideas for this one. (Though now that they're making a sequel, there's probably no point in this anymore...)

The Humanity of Heroes (tentative title): A Fire Emblem 6/7 Scouring-era idea that I had a long time ago and still think is funny: what if all 8 heroes of the Scouring were, in actuality, complete jerks?

Currently Untitled 2: Evangelion Shinji and Rei genderswap. I think this could actually have a number of really interesting effects on the series.

Do note that I've decided to not include any fics from my "Favorite Authors" section in my "Favorite Stories" section. You can assume that I highly enjoy pretty much every fic by one of my "Favorite Authors."
