SO...A lot of you have been asking me lately, 'do you have pictures of all your characters?' Short answer: no. Long answer: Not until recently. However, the question has started me thinking, Damn, what DO these people look like? That has inspired me to bring the people I know so well to true visual form. I've casted all of them and now I can begin to share with you what I picture. Of course, you are free to say, "that's not what I pictured" Totally fine! This is a helpful guide if you need it; if you don't rock on! A note about this endeavour: I personally think it's annoying when someone says, "The is my character" and it's a picture of Nina Dobrev. No offense, but I think that is lazy and surface. All the actresses and actors we know are already associated in our minds with their characters. I want you to think of my characters as themselves and not as Elena Gilbert or Robert Pattinson or even Daniel Radcliffe. That being said, there ARE some celebrities in here. You will recognise them. So if you were offended by what I said and want to flame me, I understand that! That's totally fair. You will see that I include a picture and bio for nearly every character mentioned. Hope that's helpful and not annoying!! Finally, I will be interested to hear what you think, so let me know. I can't WAIT to hear what you lot think!!! Also, disclaimer: they aren't all perfect. I apologise in advance. I will also be including outfits for important chapters (mostly Leolin's) and other important visual aides. I hope these help!! So FF is being a twat, and I think they are cracking down on links because I can't seem to get this one to work anymore. If you know a way around this, please PM me. In the meantime, here is the URL broken down. Hopefully this gets you where you need to go. s1270 dot photobucket dot com slash user slash The--Secret--Admirer slash sideshow slash Cast--The. Enjoy! THINGS I LOVE I think there is something lovely about tragedy, something beautiful about sadness. I know that may sound morose, but I think deep down we all do. You'll find that many of my stories revolve around this theme. I hope that entices rather than repels you. Conversely, I love dry wit. I love understated . I love silliness. I know that is paradoxical, but people are rarely black and white. I also love my own characters. Why yes, that is very egotistical, but I just find that I love to explore the different worlds and I don't want to be bogged down by expectations readers may have for the behaviours of beloved characters. I have recieved many a nastygram about my departures from canon, so I sometimes find that having my own character be the epicentre around which established characters revolve, and can avoid some of this grief. I also love plots that are mainly character driven. Of course I love a good, intricate plot, but if your characters suck, how can the plot redeem them? I see stories as a tapestry in which characters are the colours and plot the golden thread, woven intricately and delicately into the design as a complement, not a driving force. Obviously, I love Harry Potter. I love the world JK created. I love the characters she gave us. I love it. Expect more stories as I feel inspired. THINGS I HATE I'm sorry, but I'm not into any story where an American student comes to Hogwarts. In all seven books, does JK EVER mention an American by name? Yes, once: Max Brankovitch, the seeker for the American National Team. In the 8-part movie franchise, did they hire even ONE American actor? No, they did not. Simply put, Hogwarts and Americans/American Culture are like Sardines and Nacho Cheese; two things that ought never to be mixed. I know this may seem hypocritical since my story has several Americans in it, but it's the transfer student thing I don't get. Sorry, my duckling. :( Again, sorry, but I hate Twilight. I don't think I really need to elaborate because anything I would say has already been said by someone else. However, I might say in it's defense that the chastity is honestly the opposite of anything I'd ever create. Also, I don't really find Romeo And Juliet to be THAT romantic, so a remake for me is like...meh. Finally, I really find it so ironic that Bella's favourite book is Wuthering Heights, because Kathy and Heathcliffe love each other, they are both selfish, seriously flawed people who preeeetty much destroy each other. AKA They are not Bella and Edward...at all. I am really tired of vampires just in general, and I'm not going to sit here and just blame Twilight because that's not fair and it goes beyond that, but I honestly just think the whole idea has been exhausted in a lot of ways. I am just tired of them and their beauty and immortality and bloodlust...it's washed up. For me, I'd like to put them in a time capsule and forget about them for about 100 years or so, let them freshen up. After all, they're immortal. They'll still be good as new by then. Thankfully, I will be dead. 50 Shades of Grey...I caved to pressure and read the first one. So bad. so so bad. I guess this is me saying that with VERY few exceptions, I really hate first-person narratives. It honestly made me yearn for Twilight a little bit. It was that bad to me. I can't even say, I just really hated the whole thing...and I was alarmed by how often she mentioned her pubic hair. Ugh, no one wants to hear it, sister. THINGS I STRAIGHT UP DON'T UNDERSTAND
Male Pregancy. Oh brother. I don't think I need to mention the monstrous biological impossibilities here, but I will anyway. Baby--Uterus. Uterus--Men don't got 'em. Logical conclusion: Baby--Men don't got 'em. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE! ITS JUST SO WEIRD AND WRONG. Once I was writing a story where Legolas knowingly fell in love with an elven prostitute and someone told me that my story was a gross impossibility. Really, bitch? People are writing about men popping out kids and you think my story lacks cred? Dream on, dreamer. |
