Goal in life: To become the next J.K. Rowling/J.R.R. Tolkien

So...this is still a thing.

I'll be honest. I'd left this account for dead. I came back on a whim, not expecting to actually be able to get in to my account again. The original email address has been deactivated, so I didn't think it would work.

But here I am.

It's been a long, long time. I feel like I've dug up a time capsule only to remember why it was buried in the first place, and now I don't know what to do with it. All the stories on this account are well past the possibility of revival, and even if they weren't, my writing style has changed so drastically since I last updated any of them that trying to do so now would be a waste of time. Any updates I did make would feel like completely different stories, because I'm a completely different person now than I was five years ago. That's why I deleted all the information I had above this.

But there's one thing I'm leaving.

At 18, my goal in life was to become the next J.K. Rowling or J.R.R. Tolkien. I don't know what happened to that goal. I don't know where that dream went, or when that confidence I had went with it, but I think it's about time I started looking for them again. I'm keeping that up there to remind myself of what I thought I could be, and what I should try and find again. So I'm coming back to my roots.

I'll leave my old stories up - I know people enjoyed them - but they're all officially dead. Don't expect any updates to them; at best, there is an extraordinarily slim chance that I could go back and rewrite them entirely, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

As for new stories, there likely won't be many. Right now, I'm only working on one. I have no idea whether or not there will be any interest in it, since it's not a shipping fic. It will probably take me a while to get back in the habit of checking in and updating this site again, anyway, so I suppose there will be plenty of time to gauge whether or not anyone's interested in coming back or if new people get roped in. If I see interest, I'll post. If I don't see interest...well, this place has been dead for a long time, and I probably shouldn't be dabbling in necromancy anyway.

I've made mention of how much I've changed over the years, but I suppose I should give you an idea of what you're in for. I still enjoy Pokémon and Harry Potter, but Yu-Gi-Oh! has kind of fallen onto the back burner and has been left to simmer. I still like Ouran High School Host Club and Kingdom Hearts, but not quite as much as I used to. Currently, my biggest new interests are Les Misérables, Warriors (aka Warrior Cats), Team Fortress 2, and Homestuck, with a dash of Ace Attorney thrown in for good measure.

I don't know the status of her account since I left, but the account is still there. I remember being so flattered that someone so popular thought enough of a review I left to feature it on her profile and share my page with all her readers, and while I'm a little afraid I wouldn't get the same enjoyment out of them if I were to read them again now, her stories really did inspire me when I initially wrote here.

I guess that's all I have to say for now. Not much to do but sit back and see what happens. Ciao.
