i like to read and watch and listen, but only because i have nothing good to say. i'm not a very interesting person. if anything, i can tell you stories, stories about sad-eyed teens and insomnia. metro-riding and sleep-talking. my best thoughts come out of me when i'm not even trying to make sense—they come in bursts and snippets. fragments and such. long strings of words just tied together with little coherence, rambling on and on and on until maybe something can be extracted, but not really. not if you really look for it. my favorite people are the ones who humor me and pretend to enjoy my company when i really annoy the shit out of them. i've been known to keep people up for hours because i have something to say and need someone to say it to. it usually doesn't make sense and it usually doesn't affect them any, but i just keep talking like it does. around midnight is when people give up on trying to pay attention. by three, they're annoyed. if they bother to stay up with me through the night, they usually don't speak to me for days, but that's all right, i guess. it's why i like talking to strangers. you don't matter to them, so they put up with you. most of the time, i prefer them over my friends.

i used to say i was messy because i'm an artist. now i think it's the other way around. i like chaos and clutter and those crazy people on street corners talking to the clouds. one day i'll have a real conversation with one of them and we'll laugh and cry and fall in love and it will be so damn amazing that not even the most literary fucks will be able to find the words for it.
