Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter. I'm bad at identifying important aspects of myself to share, so I'll just say I love stories, and I enjoy fan fiction quite a bit. I think it's a great way for people to enjoy a story together and get better at writing. I hope to do that, and whether I ever publish something I hope to alway tell myself stories, if nothing else. I try to write what I enjoy and I am utterly incapable of writing romance. (I will try if the story calls for it but it never comes out right.) Speaking of things I enjoy here's a short list, I love science fiction like absurd alternate reality books- Clearly I love Jk Rowling but I also really enjoy Jasper Fford (Read Thursday Next books- amazing female lead, goofy, all about books) Douglas Adams. I've recently gotten into the City Watch books (Discworld) by Terry Pratchett. Odd Thomas (Books by Dean Koontz) is my hero. Grew up with distopic/alternate society books and love them- Giver, Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Kurt Vonnegut, Shadow Children (other books by Margaret Peterson Haddix), Eion Colfer's the Supernaturalist, Margaret Atwood, (all of this culminating in me having a midnight breakdown over Hunger games), I could go on forever. and finally Lamb; the Gospel According to Christ's Childhood Pal Biff. Television wise- Stargate Sg1 and Atlantis (I like Science Fiction that isn't super dark and doesn't take itself to seriously), Firefly, Sanctuary, Other Space is almost everything I could ever want from a space show. I like Star Wars and unashamedly love the Phantom Menance. (Nervous about new ones!), I enjoy superhero movies in the same way one enjoys fruit roll-ups and I don't know about anything I haven't seen in a movie or have been told by mu friends/TvTropes (I almost feel guilty about this, but Fruit Roll-Ups.) I have an unhealthy addiction to watching different versions of Jesus Christ Superstar (I don't know how this happened to me, but feel free to tell me your favorite version and why, hahaha) Despite my love of all these things I may only ever write Harry Potter because it's the only one of these I know well enough to write about- Excluding Jesus Christ Superstar, but there's already so much fan-fiction about Jesus and I just don't think I could properly add to that genre...;) So I hope you enjoy what I have to bring, I write because I enjoy it and I hope you do to. For those of you keeping up with my stories Maraud- Because Tyler's a Stupid Name- Part II is Mind the Ingredients- On the off chance you're on my profile because you liked my "How does this publishing on work" story- It has a plot and a conclusion all prepared, and I actually really love writing the story and the characters. However it's typically relegated to the back burner because of my other FanFics (see above) and my Original Fiction work (See below). A quote for the road? Sam: It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo... the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? (...) Those were the stories that stayed with you... that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. (...) Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going... because they were holding on to something! Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam? Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for. |
