![]() Author has written 5 stories for Life is Strange, Avengers, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. How do people write good bios? Asking for a friend... * In construction * - My heart died with the Black Widow. - Really not mentally prepared for her movie. I can't suffer another heartbreak. I just can't.
Scrap that. I will totally go watch it (and die). I probably will scream and cry and be hysterical when her arch finally ends though. I'm sorry, but like, I have to wait another 6 months. My poor heart can't do it guys. So I saw this really great thing on another profile, Flatfox's, where they encourage everyone to write a review. I want to express my own thought on this because I think this is really important that everyone sees this and understand how much you as reader mean to us writers. Here is a list of things you as a reader can do make to "the author of that fanfic you really like", happy. 1) Drop a review every other (or every) chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are really meaningful to me, and I bet many others as well. While hits are fun to look at, and the graph telling me how many reads my stories are really cool, that doesn't tell me if you like it or not. Lately, I've been so lucky to get some very loyal readers who always write a review. Some are just a few words telling me they liked it, and others are like a small novel in itself. I love them. I appreciate them. I treasure them. In fact, I treasure them so much I even made a document to myself to so I can look back at them whenever I feel discouraged. And just to be clear. This doesn't need to be like 500 words telling us every single detail about everything. Literally "I really like this chapter!" or "this was so good" or "nice job" means so much to us. Like seriously, just consider it. You will make somebody's day. 2) Send a PM. I love PM's. Talking to my readers and exchange ideas is so much fun. And I adore you if you are that person who likes to send a small PM to your favourite author(s). I love reading them, and I swear my heart stops for a second when is see I have a new message in my inbox. I always send a message as a thank for a review. It's no acceptions to that rule. PM's is just a fun way to interact with my readers. I-love-it. 3) Visit our author page. Personally, I don't look at those hits too much, but I know others do. And just looking at the page makes others happy so like, do it. Maybe you'll find some fun things there. And also you can explore other fanfics from that author. Honestly, it's a win-win for everybody. I found this on somebody's page, who again looked at my page because they were looking at my beta profile. Which is also a reason why you should look at somebody's profile. Maybe you want to start writing and your favourite author happens to be open to beta reading. Again, just do it. It takes like 3 seconds, you make somebody happy and you might find something you really enjoy in the process. |
