![]() Author has written 5 stories for Baldur's Gate, and Fallout. “And yes, before tha asks, I am a history writer.. Better History! Blastier! Messier! Sexier!” -Cio, the fanfiction writer from the webcomic Kill Six Billion Demons, by Abbadon Hi! I’m Winding Warpath. I’ve always aspired to be a writer, mostly trying to write entertaining fantasy stories. That’s what led to my first attempt at fanfiction, which was meant as an experiment at writing a pulpy action/adventure story, and though it had its ups and downs and grew a bit, I think I learned a lot. I’m a male author, which I’m a little self-conscious about since I seem to keep writing stories with women-protagonists and an action/adventure bent. I do hope I can pull that off without ever falling too much into ~*Strong Female Protagonist*~ territory, but judge for yourself. Favorite author: (or at least strongest influence) would have to be Fritz Leiber. For a kid who enjoyed the fantasy genre but could never really get into Tolkien, Leiber’s Ffard and the Grey Mouser stories were perfect. Very personable and human protagonists, having misadventures in a very wild and interesting world. And he loved writing about sword fights. My Stories on this Site: Baldur’s Gate: Death’s Favored Daughter – An (extremely long) serial, that roughly follows the plot of Baldur’s Gate 1. The tone is meant to be one of pulpy fantasy adventure, though there are dark moments. There is also romance, humor, banter, drama, and lots of ridiculous action set pieces (for some reason I really enjoy writing those). A bit of everything, really. The story uses every single Baldur’s Gate NPC that can join the party (including the EE characters) in *some* capacity, though some are just quick cameos. Rated M for almost every imaginable reason (graphic violence, cursing, pervasive raunchiness, several sex scenes, and lots of dark and horrific elements), although I don’t *think* the story ever gets terribly bleak or grimdark. Still: beware of character deaths! Complete! Now You See Me… – A novella, taking place during the events of Death’s Favored Daughter. It follows Imoen, along with some of the other thieves from the game, as they go on various missions for the thieves’ guild. A light-hearted series of roguish adventures and elaborate heists. Rated T for the usual, lightly PG-13 stuff. Complete! Isle of Beasts – A novella, and a semi-sequel to Death’s Favored Daughter. Follows events on the Isle of Balduran/Werewolf Island from the game, with a lot of twists. Werewolves, and struggles with one’s beastly nature ahoy! Rated T, although it's a fairly heavy T (being a story about werewolves and all). Complete! Death's Favored Daughter Book II: Shadow Slayers - A serial loosely based on Baldur's Gate 2, with a lot of twists. The characters start out by boldly strolling into Athkatla before anyone has a chance to kidnap them, for instance. Chaos and destruction insues from there. Rated M for raunchiness, some sex scenes later on, graphic violence, disturbing stuff once Jon Irenicus shows up, and creative cursing. Updates (ideally) once every two weeks. Fallout: Cowgirls of the Commonwealth – A Fallout 4/Fallout: New Vegas serial, told from the perspective of Nora, the most default and unprepared Sole Survivor imaginable, as she tries to survive in a strange new world. Features a gun slinging Courier who has conquered the Mojahave and then some, and Cass as her drunken, shotgun wielding pardner’ in crime. Very much meant to be an over-the-top action/comedy. Rated T – but very much a heavy T: with the over-the-top action comes over-the-top violence, and of course Fallout characters swear a lot (especially Cass). Updates sporadically. |
