Limited has started and it is nothing more than my greatest joy and guilty pleasure. I'd love to know what you think:)

I have finally finished my Iliad fanfic The Handmaiden!! Thank you to all of my supporters over the year - you make my world go round. With it I was exploring the following:

1. Achilles is considered the greatest Hero in Ancient Greek mythology, yet I remember reading the Iliad the first time and finding him pitiable. I have attempted to dive into his humanity in this fic, showing that it was his choice of eternal glory that turned him into a rash and proud fool.

2. My OC is far from perfect, and in the beginning she fell into a little bit of the "she heals him trope" so I'M SORRY - I WAS YOUNG AT THE TIME. But the truth is I want to explore an imperfect OC - one that has obvious flaws, even if it is not like Achilles murdering everyone on the battlefield. And,

3. I wanted to highlight that women were suppressed in this time, so even in a ten year war women like Adara and Helen could find new power or independence despite their terrible situations.

4. I enjoy both the movie and the book for different reasons, and trying to couple the romanticism of the movie with the classical portrayal of these characters.
