JSN7 (Formerly CoyoteN7) PROFILE VERSION 2.4 Hello! I'm JSN7. Thanks for checking out my profile and/or works on this site. I am currently a college student heading into his final year who is considering entering the fiction writing field as a vocation. As for this site, I hang out in star wars roleplaying forums with some of my friends, while also expanding my most prized work Star Wars Eons: Inquisition. My favorite part about writing fanfiction is it is the only true unregulated form of storytelling where no corporate agendas can influence how the story is told, or how the author wants to tell it. There are no deadlines, no people to please, just yourself, and hopefully (if you're lucky) the hearts of many others. I've been on this site for 7 years now, and have been writing for just as long, and if you've read all of my works, you'll know I've come a long way. Star Wars is virtually all I have the time to write about nowadays, but I do hope one day to expand. If you are new, I truly only recommend Inquisition as a testament to my current writing skill and level, and all the others are merely echoes of the past that have become obsolete with time. I am always willing to chat Star Wars or take suggestions. I do not do writing challenges, as I do not have the time for them (and frankly, most challenges I've received are not great ideas), nor do I find offense with criticism. It's how we grow. Flaming just for trolling or out of ignorance, however, does not help anyone, except of course for those that take perverse pleasure in trashing the dignity of another, which, in my experience, is usually because their own is not as sound as their target's. Only recently did I dip into the roleplay sphere, and now that takes up some of my writing time, but it is for a good cause. Learning characterization from the eyes of others can only improve your own. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy yourself here. Name: Most people call me J on here. That works. SOME TOP 5's MOVIES 1. The Dark Knight - A cinematic masterpiece on every level. 2. The Empire Strikes Back - Is there anything I need to say...really? 3. Interstellar - Reinforced my love for not just sci-fi, but astronomy and the mysteries of our universe. 4. Inception - A fantastical mind-heist movie that deals with the inner workings of the human brain, and how we might perceive it. 5. The Wolf of Wall Street - Being a stock junkie helps my interest, but this movie is absolutely ridiculous and hilarious. Love it. VIDEO GAMES 1. Super Mario Galaxy 2 2. Mass Effect 2 3. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword 4. Mass Effect 3 5. Jedi: Fallen Order Honorable Mentions: Pokemon Soulsilver, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Force Unleashed 2, Mass Effect, Injustice 2, Halo: Reach SUPERHEROES 1. Wonder Woman 2. Black Panther 3. Batman 4. Iron Man 5. Jessica Cruz Honorable Mentions: Donna Troy, Starfire, Nightwing, Dr. Strange SUPERVILLAINS 1. Lex Luthor 2. Joker 3. Killmonger 4. Deathstroke 5. Thanos MASS EFFECT SQUADMATES 1. Tali'Zorah 2. Garrus 3. Grunt 4. EDI 5. Legion STAR WARS CHARACTERS 1. Obi Wan Kenobi - Ah yes, the Negotiator! Since I watched the prequels for the first time (when I was only 6 years old!), Obi-Wan has always been my favorite character. Nobody can really be such a troll even when the odds are stacked so high against him, and he's perhaps the most entertaining and compelling that I've seen over time. 2. Trilla Suduri - I'm sure this is a surprise (or not, for those of you who have been reading Inquisition), but she was the character that really sold Fallen Order for me. Before, watching Rebels Season 2, the inquisitors, I felt, were somewhat forgettable, but I don't think that was the fault of the story or those who portrayed them. Then they were just bad guys with red lightsabers, looking for Jedi. Enter Trilla, a character who had no previous installments, and within 2 minutes of pulling off her mask, I gave a shit about her. No, not because of her obvious attraction, but because of what she represented. She's the face of those who, despite the odds, survived Order 66, but suffered a fate even WORSE than death, made to serve the exact government that had ruined them in the first place. For the first time, I really saw the Orwellian side of Star Wars, brainwashed former Jedi who had been twisted and made to serve without any true conscience or free will. Suddenly, these people weren't just "bad guys", they were tragic individuals that had perhaps wished Order 66 had succeeded in their terms, and THAT is something I never thought I'd believe. That's what makes Trilla so brilliant. With only about 15 minutes of true screen time, she showed the true sinister machinations of the Empire, and watching Rebels again, I'm disappointed they stopped showing up after the second season. Aside from just what I've described, her character was brilliantly represented, even funny at times, something you don't expect from someone so obviously twisted. All in all, I could ramble here for hours, but I've already done that for the past 4 months! 3. Anakin Skywalker - Believe it or not, my interest in Anakin has been a rather new one, and if you asked me a year ago, I would've never put him above Ahsoka. However, over time with rewatching the Clone Wars series and playing him in Battlefront II (as well as my buddy's obsession with him), I hopped on the bandwagon recently. I'd expect him to drop back down eventually, but now, he's the craze to be sure! 4. Ahsoka Tano 5. Grand Admiral Thrawn Honorable Mentions: Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Lando Calrissian, Yoda STAR WARS LEGENDS CHARACTERS 1. Jaina Solo - Quite simply the best idea for a Star Wars character, in my opinion. I can't even begin to describe why I like her so much, and I may go as far to say she's my favorite character EVER, which makes it even more unfortunate that she isn't canon anymore. That doesn't stop her from living on in our hearts. 2. Jagged Fel - The cool and calculated pilot who does his best to keep the mission first, even if he fails from time to time. Once again, he's a character that captures a perfect idea. 3. Revan - The man who had the vision to find another way to wield the full power of both sides of the Force. No one really compares. 4. Cade Skywalker - This guy...yeah he gets it. He KNOWS what it means to skate the thin line between good and evil. 5. Tahiri Veila - She knows what it means to truly fall...and yet here she is, still kicking around. Honorable Mentions: Jacen Solo, Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, Anakin Solo, Marasiah Fel AVATAR UNIVERSE CHARACTERS 1. Katara - Pretty easy decision for me. Since I watched Korra/Avatar backwards, I wasn't sure if she'd measure up to Korra as far as my impression, but she went far enough to surpass it. It's hard to be kind, but also be able to kick everyone's ass at the same time. Nothing to hate about her whatsoever. Perfect character. 2. Korra - Fiery determination to bulldoze through everything in her path was certainly more preferable to me than Aang's peaceful approach (not a knock against him at all), and man was she just fun to watch. 3. Zuko - Although I could tell he would eventually come around in the end, his story is probably the most compelling of the entire show...but no, I do not think he should be with Katara (not even remotely, honestly). 4. Azula - Wow! What a shitty, terrible person! Such a brilliant character! 5. Mako - His personality is almost exactly like my own -- a very practical man. Honorable Mentions: Toph, Aang, Tenzin, Iroh, Momo RANDOM FACTS I have a stutter. Most of my favorite characters are female. I just find them more interesting than men...for whatever reason. Marvel vs. DC? Definitely DC, but I really enjoy the Marvel movies. I do not like the new Star Wars trilogy (especially The Last Jedi), even though Star Wars is my favorite franchise. I played baseball for 7 years, and basketball in high school. I earned Valedictorian in high school (along with 40 others however). HOW I RATE MY STORIES (Plus Tomatometers) All Star Fox Stories (N/A%) - Not really there for you to read, more for me to see my growth as a writer in perspective. There and Back Again (35%) - Writing isn't great, and Napoleon is a half-assed and boring OC who is amazing at everything. Idea is nice, but the execution is not. More than a Game (31%) - After looking past the high school nostalgia it brings back, it's a high school fanficiton story. Cliche, uninteresting, in my eyes now at least. If that's the kind of genre you're looking for, it may be for you, but not me. There and Back Again 2: The Delta Crisis (39%) - Napoleon is halfway interesting, and the plot at least tries something new, but honestly, not compelling. Pokemon Apokelypse: Showbiz (59%) - Yes, it's incomplete, and I'm not sure how much credit I can take for it, since the idea is more or less not mine, but this was perhaps a story ahead of its time for me. Plot is intense, serious and somewhat gritty. No, I will not be finishing it, but if I ever did return to Pokemon, this is what it would be like. Star Wars Eons Episode I: The Clone Wars (55%) - All of my redone chapters are pretty solid, but all the rest are REALLY bad. I find myself cringing from some of that dialogue from time to time, and the old chapters are almost impossible for me to get through. The reason this score is high is because of those remastered chapters. Star Wars Eons Episode II: Revenge of the Sith (23%) - Oh man, is this story bad. I've never seen such a half-assed effort in my life, and I can hardly say any of that is really my own work. The dialogue is the WORST of all, sometimes completely out of character, and everyone kisses Xur's ass. Not to mention him fighting PALPATINE...no, I'm not getting into it. There's a reason this story is no longer canon for me. Star Wars Eons Episode III: The Globalist (30%) - I know what you long-time followers are saying. J, didn't you have this at 75% a year ago? I'd tell you, yes, I did, but now the whole descendant of Revan shit makes me cringe. Xur has no individuality, and I didn't even explore that as a possible subplot! The ending is rushed, the dialogue sucks, and there's nothing but fan service. Starkiller does nothing at all...in fact NO ONE DOES ANYTHING COMPELLING. Yeah, I'm yelling at myself, but it's true. Vader is the only character that makes any damn sense. Star Wars Eons Episode IV: Legacy of Redemption (50%) - This one I can at least get through, but the Revanite stuff is lame. This is the first story with halfway decent dialogue, but it's riddled with fan service and Luke doesn't do anything. That seems to be a theme with this stories...characters sitting around and not doing anything... DC Stories (N/A%) - I'll go over these at a later date. Star Wars Eons Episode V: The Final Betrayal (82%) - I like this one, even if it's pretty recent. It feels original, even if it uses a very Star Wars "handrails" line. I still want to do something with those characters, but that's in the far future. Star Wars Eons: Inquisition (97%) - If I haven't already proven already, I'm tremendously critical of my own works, so if something is this high, that means I'm very proud of it. Inquisition has not only given me the confidence the actually pursue writing as a profession, but just as a storyteller in general. This silly thing was just a story I started up because I thought Trilla dying at the end of Fallen Order was BS; throwing away a character for the sake of fan service (aka, bad storytelling). I like Vader, but not THAT much. Anyhow, this story begins with an adaptation of the Obi Wan undercover arc from the Clone Wars TV series, follows the game pretty close, but then goes off the friggen rails very quickly, and I am supremely glad it did. Personally, I think Trilla's mental arc is awesome, and while she wasn't the main character at the beginning of the story, by the end, it felt like she was. Hijacking the story from Xur Eon was something I was totally okay with, and their romance (dubbed "Xurilla") was the most believable I've ever produced, far more convincing than Xur and Ahsoka ever was. If I ever wish to present Xur to someone, I will always point to this work, and you can imagine Xur and Trilla is my OTP from this point forward. -- Things I think need improvement (because there are always those), some dialogue spots. I've already cleaned up the bad ones (mainly in The Revenant), and there are some fan-service-y stuff I would prefer wasn't in there, but there isn't much I can do about it now, not without an extensive rewrite. You don't need to know." -Commander Shepard "You assume I give a damn. That's cute." -Commander Shepard "You organized the attack on Elysium. You want me to thank you for my Star of Terra?" -Commander Shepard "My brain agrees with you. My gut tells me I should jack his olfactory sensors so that everything smells like refuse!" -Tali'Zorah "Windows are structural weaknesses. Geth do not use them." -Legion "Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer." -Javik "Is everyone on this planet a lying asshole?" -Pathfinder Ryder "Is this where I give a speech? Ask you to die for me? No thanks. I say we shove the Remnant down the Archon's throat. And maybe that buys us a chance. All of us. We get the whole cluster to pile on. Everyone in Heleus has earned some fucking payback." -Pathfinder Ryder "All too easy." -Darth Vader "You are foolish to listen to your masters if they tell you there is only one way." -Revan "Following direct orders isn't always the best way to solve a problem." -Ahsoka Tano "Are you doing business, or not?" -Cad Bane "Do or do not, there is no try." -Yoda "There is no power a Sith holds that a Jedi cannot choose to wield." -Revan "I have the patience of stone and the will of stars." -Darth Vitiate "I am a Jedi like my father before me." -Luke Skywalker "I warn you not to underestimate my powers." -Luke Skywalker "Life has this funny way of forcing us on the path forward anyway." -Cal Kestis "You truly have the wits of a scrapper." -Second Sister "You either die a hero...or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." -Harvey Dent "A long time ago, I was in Burma. My friends and I were working for the local government. They were trying to buy the loyalty of tribal leaders by bribing them with precious stones. But their caravans were being raided in a forest north of Rangoon by a bandit. So, we went looking for the stones. But in six months, we never met anybody who traded with him. One day, I saw a child playing with a ruby the size of a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing them away...Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn." -Alfred Pennyworth "That symbol's meaning is up to the person who wears it." -Batman "Why have enemies when you can have friends?" -King Arthur "Ain't easy living too sacred to die." -Confess, Logic "When enough people make false promises, words stop meaning anything. Tyrion Lannister "My own mother...thought I was a monster. She was right of course, but it still hurt." -Azula CHARACTER BIOS (Potential Spoilers, so read at your own risk!) If you spot this man, or believe to, contact local authorities immediately. Trilla Suduri (trilla sue-der-ee) Ruthless. Intelligent. Horrifying. You cannot find the Second Sister. She will find you...and you will wish she didn't. Cal Kestis (kal kest-iss) Scrapper. Wits about as strong as a protocol droid. Non-threat. Effa Azulia (eh-fuh ah-zoo-lee-uh) Nightmare fuel. Offer rejected. Transferred to Second Sister to expedite disposal. Commander Brutis Strength and temper unparalleled. Gets tanks out of there, not soldiers. Merrin [NO DATA AVAILABLE] Mass Effect Kibo'Xen vas Normandy (alias: Victor Price) The main protagonist of Restitution. Officially KIA, he was resurrected by Cerberus to take on the Collectors. After Shepard's death, she returned to the Migrant Fleet until being recruited to take on the Collectors. Fia'Xen vas Neema Not much is known about Fia'Xen, aside from the fact that she is Kibo'Xen's half-sister, and that you don't want to be around when she's angry... Captain Diana Shepard Former member of the original Normandy crew that took down Saren. Was promoted to Council Spectre after the death of her half-brother, John Shepard. She now works directly for Admiral Anderson. Kan'Jaal vas Neema A gifted engineer, but somewhat mysterious... Anto'Faro vas Neema A large quarian with a rather extreme view on the geth. |
