At the height of a plague, Katara's ship was quarantined at sea for the requisite 40 days, and Zuko sailed out nightly to speak to her.

Summary: Katara asks Zuko to pick up some shampoo and he forgets that texting is a thing.

"Have you ever tried braiding it?" he asked, hands raking through her hair. "Never learned, no one ever showed me how." Their eyes locked through the mirror. "I know how to braid…" Perhaps Ben is weaving more than just Rey's hair together...Force bond fluff. Reylo.

Although the world is at peace and all the people she loves are safe, harsh memories still haunt Katara. Her and Zuko's children are present to witness it, but so is he.

He smells faintly of sulfur - of stars, and clear night skies. It's as if the World Between Worlds got under his skin and transformed him from the inside out.
