MANY WRITERS ON HERE ARE NEW, LIKE ME, I'VE NEVER EVER, EVER WRITTEN STORIES BEFORE, WHAT I'VE NOTICED AS A READER FIRST (I'VE READ WELL OVER 2K FANFICS ON HERE SO FAR AT LEAST) IS THE LACK OF REVIEWS FOR THESE AUTHORS. THESE GUYS POUR A PART OF THEMSELVES INTO THEIR STORIES SO GIVE CREDIT, IT TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO A COUPLE MINUTES TO GIVE KUDOS SO WHY IS IT MAINLY COMPLAINTS PEOPLE VOICE (THIS IS TRUE IN DAILY LIFE AS WELL)?? IF WE WANT CONTINUED GROWTH AND MORE STORIES FROM THE AUTHORS OF OUR FAVORITES THEN LET THEM KNOW, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO CONTINUE GROWTH AND GIVE US OUR ENDLESS SELECTION OF FANGIRL/GUY MATERIAL. ALSO, TELLING A BRAND NEW WRITER WHO HAS NEVER EVER, EVER WRITTEN STORIES OR ANY AUTHOR THAT YOU DON'T LIKE THE PLOT OR HOW A CHARACTER IS WRITTEN REALLY MISSES THE POINT...YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS: A HANDY LITTLE BUTTON CALLED A MOUSE. CLICK IT AND MOVE ON...NO ONE IS HOLDING A GUN TO YOUR HEAD MAKING YOU READ SOMETHING YOU DON'T LIKE...HELL, WE ALL HAVE STARTED BOOKS WE DON'T LIKE, BUT IF WE ALL WROTE EACH AUTHOR EVERY TIME THAT HAPPENED THAT WOULD BE SAD. WHAT YOU LIKE OTHERS WON'T AND WHAT OTHERS LIKE YOU MIGHT NOT SO AGAIN CLICK BECAUSE NOT EVERY STORY WAS MEANT FOR YOU AND THAT'S OKAY IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU OR THE AUTHOR WRONG...SECOND OPTION: IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE PLOT/CHARACTERS ECT...WRITE IT YOURSELF! :) :) HELL, YOU MIGHT BE GOOD AT IT, YOU MIGHT LOVE IT, YOU MIGHT SEE IT'S NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK, BUT IT'S THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL HAVE THE CHARACTERS AND EVENTS THAT YOU PERSONALLY WANT. I STARTED WRITING AFTER FALLING IN LOVE WITH SOME STORIES ON HERE THAT WERE NEVER FINISHED AND I COULDN'T LET GO OF THEM UNTIL I KNEW WHAT HAPPENED SO I WROTE MY ENDINGS THEN IT WENT FROM THERE...WHICHEVER YOU CHOOSE DON'T FLAME THE AUTHORS. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM...COOL...FLAMES????WAAAAAY UNCOOL

WHY I CHOSE TO TRY AND WRITE/POST MY FIRST FANFIC AND WHY I CHOSE PATCH/NORA:

I just completed the Hush Hush saga, Thoughtless/Effortless/Reckless books and am working on The Immortals books now. I noticed a serious lack of fanfic stories on Patch/Nora from Hush Hush and I think he's a hot character so I'm going to try to write one. This will be my first story so I'm very very nervous. I don't know if there's even a fan base for Patch and Nora but it's a start and little less intimidating then others jam packed with authors worthy of publishing.

MY FANFICTION OBSESSION EXPOSED & MY SOAPBOX ON STORY RIP OFF'S:

*Needless to say I'm a voracious reader of such said stories to the point that since discovering this site about a year or less ago it's pretty much all that I've read until this month. To begin with I didn't pay attention to whether a story was complete or incomplete and have been GREATLY frustrated with the awesome stories that weren't finished that I had fallen in love with, this is where I tie all this together, I couldn't just let go of some of them I HAD to know what happened so I started writing endings to the one's I couldn't get out of my head. I had around twenty stories give or take, some over 400 pages written when my computer crashed before I had backed up and I lost them all. I stopped writing totally disheartened but have picked it back up. I'm just starting to write my own ideas but I have to say for the record THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY UNIQUE STORY THAT DOESN'T IN SOME WAY OR PART OR TOPIC "RIP OFF" SOMEBODY'S IDEA/TOPIC because honestly, if you accuse everyone of copying a topic or story line that isn't a word for word replica or close to it we would have no stories to read because you're basically saying once some author writes a story on vampires that every book after that is a "rip off" of that book/author. Now, to clarify, if you are basically revising a piece of work changing just a few things than ya, you're a rip off and that's not cool shame on you and you deserve to be called out on it. I try not to ever do that but I've read so many works that I love that I may unknowingly think I have a really cool idea that ends up being close to (not exact) someone else. That's not on purpose and if you feel something I post is too close please send me a POLITE PM and I will do my very best to fix or I will remove it if I agree. I never want to steal somebodies work, the authors I have read on here are amazing and deserve kudo's and encouragement not to be ripped off.

*I don't have a Beta yet and I'm ashamed to admit punctuation is NOT my strong point so please keep that in mind and feel free to KINDLY let me know when I screw up so I can fix it. I do try but I know I'm going to mess up.

*If you love somebodies works on here (even if they're not mine!) REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW it takes a couple minutes and we get more stories and improving authors and it makes people happy to know you took the time, you appreciate their work and them putting themselves out there. It takes A LOT of courage to share your writing since your giving a part of you, your thoughts/feelings/passions/ideas ect out there for people to judge and let's face it, this is a cold harsh world where more people criticize then compliment so if you like/love something LET THEM KNOW :) Plus, I've met some very very cool people on here that led to online friendships just by leaving a review so try it it's addictive!
