Which explains the nature of most of my fics here lately. About Me I am an undergraduate student studying English and mathematics. I am actually done with the English portion, really, so it'll be mostly math from here on out. If you're wondering why I don't post very often and why I rarely respond to PMs, it's probably because I'm buried under my math homework. I like to talk a lot on the Internet, but in person I'm pretty shy; eye-contact is usually an issue. I am definitely an introvert; I don't leave my house if I can help it, and social gatherings terrify me. (What do I say? What if they don't like me? Etc.) Also, I'm just pretty low-energy in general and will not make much effort to leave the comfort of my room unless I really like you. I have a soft spot for cats. I can be angry at people, but never at a cat, no matter what it looks like. I am currently reading Philip K. Dick's work, and in general I love dystopian stories. I am trying to get into science fiction in general, but it's slow going, especially when I don't have much free time to read. I'm not really into fandoms except for HP, and the only reason why I'm into the HP fandom in the first place is because I started as a young child, and it's hard to leave it now. So...I'm sorry I can't squee over whatever incarnation of Sherlock Holmes you're into. I just don't have the time to join more fandoms. I hope you'll forgive me for that, but I'll understand if you don't. Anyway, that's all I can think of to say. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat; I'll try to hold a conversation the best I can. :) What I Read and Write on FanFiction.net I am first and foremost a Drarry shipper. I have been one for years, and I don't feel any inclination to change now. I have read literally thousands of Drarry fics over the years, and I am well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the ship. I gravitate more towards adult fics where they're already out of Hogwarts (or at least "Eighth Year"), because I do not want to erase seven books' worth of history (except for maybe that awful epilogue). I quite enjoy exploring a mature version of Harry and Draco, with much less teen angst and more drive for the future. I try my best to write more unique plots, although I know it's hard to do so when so much has already been written. I want to see as many sides of their relationship as possible. I do think the ship is possible if one writes it well enough and gives enough thought to the canonical character development that has already been laid out. I can't just brush away all their history and just mush them together for no reason, because then what was the point of writing fanfiction? Do I always succeed in making them plausible? Well, you can be the judge. I will always be my biggest critic, and there are times when I'm not 100% happy with what I've written. This does not deter me, of course, but only encourages me to write better in the future. On that note, constructive criticism is always welcome. (Bashing the ship or simply saying my story sucks with no justification is never welcome, though, so keep that in mind.) I don't ship only Drarry, though. Here's a list of other types of fics I will consider reading/writing: -Canonical ships (if they are set beyond the books' time) -Albus/Scorpius (if they're not clones of their dads) -Percy/Oliver -Percy/Padma -Harry/Hermione (although I'm very picky about this one; I don't want to read boring fluff where nothing happens between them) -Blaise/Millicent -Harry/Luna -Viktor/Hermione -Scorpius/Rose (in theory, but I do wish someone would write them as adults; I hate teen angst) -Fred/Hermione (yes, I'm still in denial about his death) -Non-romantic stories with an intriguing plot (or at least, w/o romance as the sole purpose) I will add to this list as I find more things that intrigue me, but you get the point. Public Service Announcement Dear Slash Writers, To elevate the penis, you don't have to hate on the vajayjay. -MaryRoyale Words of Wisdom "A penis isn't just a sexual organ. It's a way of life." -Mark Geoffrey Norrish "Some people just don't think with their full brains. Or even have one." -erm31323 Museum My muse is not an actual person; he or she is the conceptualisation of my drive to write, to construct these little worlds for my own enjoyment and also secondarily for yours. I find elements of my muse in almost everyone I interact with, because there is always inspiration to be found in sustained conversation. Even those who hurt me can provide a spark that might ignite my next story, although of course I would prefer that all those people die off-screen in a fire. Sometimes my life gets hectic. When I fall in love with a concept, I fall hard, dropping almost all my other responsibilities to chase after a love that might even be fruitless and futile. My situation is always in flux because I just keep chasing after my muse and finding myself in god knows what sort of situation, time and time again. My muse is an infuriating creature, too fluid to hold and too alluring to give up. I'll win one day. |
