TOP 20(plus) FACTS ABOUT YUGI AKITERU AND THE GIRL WITH GOLDEN EYES

1. The title of the story originally came from a song sharing the same name written by Sixx A.M. as well as gave the inspiration for the Persian half of Yugi's background and her ability to speak it.

2. The song is actually about withdrawal from an addiction to heroin.

3. In earlier ideas for the story, I was originally going to have her be a middle child to the Yagamis, having either been adopted before Sayu was born or being blood related and suffer from Middle Child Syndrome.

4. While thinking on that concept, I was planning on her getting sent to Wammy's due to her jealous behavior toward Sayu, causing Soichiro to put her up for adoption.

5. When planning out the original story, I had thought of having another OC tag along with Yugi everywhere she went. This character was going to be the wolf that was used to turn Yugi into a half wolf, and would also be known as her "blood mate". I later scrapped this idea because I felt that he would be too controlling when it came to Yugi's decisions.

6. When coming up with Yugi's real name (Aruki), I pulled it out of the opening theme for the anime Amnesia. The song is called Zoetrope by Nagi Yanagi.

7. Simmilarly, I got Dr. Akiteru's first name (Ukyo) from a character in the anime with the same name.

8. When coming up with her last name (Akiteru), I actually used the names of Yukiteru Amino and Aru Akise from the anime Future Diary (Mirai Nikki) and meshed them together. #AkiseXAmino4Life

9. Yugi's relationship with Beyond Birthday wasn't added until I had actually read Death Note: Another Note. This also helped when developing how Yugi would end up at Wammy's.

10. Before creating Yugi, I was going to have a pair of twins and actually ship them with L and Light. They later became the characters known as Equal and Abstract (the latter in which has only been mentioned in Chapter 23).

11. Kani was created to be adorable.

12. Kani's full name is Kanako Akiteru. I based his first name off of the japanese word koneko which translates to kitten.

13. Before re-editing, Yugi was originally going to run into Akiteru unknowingly. I swapped this with her meeting Equal because I felt that it would work out better.

14. Yugi's design was inspired from the neko version of Hatsune Miku.

15. I've considered shipping Yugi with multiple characters like BB, Light, Sayu, Matsuda, and all three Wammy boys.

16. I didn't want to ship Yugi with L because there were so many LxOC fanfictions already. However I did humor those who wanted me to ship her with L by adding the scene that revealed Equal as Yugi's mother.

17. I also wrote a lemon for L/Yugi fans which can be found here on my page. FYI: I can't write lemons for shit.

18. I made Yugi bisexual because I was struggling with my own sexuality at the time. I'm still struggling to come out to my family as a pansexual.

19. I'm considering on writing a non-canon lemon taking place when Yugi spends the night with Light. Just because I can't write lemons it doesn't mean I won't try.

20. Yugi's allergy to Chocolate and her addiction to Peanut Butter are based on the fact that Chocolate can make a dog sick and that dogs love Peanut Butter.

21. Yugi's heat cycle is her version of a regular menstrual cycle, but takes several years to regulate while a menstrual cycle takes several months.

22. I'm currently working on a prequel consisting of the two years Yugi spent at Wammy's before the Kira Case. I wont be posting that for a while though.

23. I'm also planning on writing a fanfiction based off of L: Change the WorLd, but rewriting it so it would take place before Akiteru's Lab burnt down.

24. Yugi's favorite flower is a Daffodil.

25. The clones were created for potential ships.
