It's not really a policy, but more a warning and guideline, not that you really have to follow it at all; you guys have your rights. Okay, so things that I allow: Basically everything that has substance. I don't care if you don't like my story, I can why you don't like it. If you dislike a certain aspect of my work, tell me so I can improve; improvement is why I post things here. Pointing out where I flub. If there's an inconsistency, let me know immediately so I can fix it for people who read after you. If there's a plothole, let me know. The only time I'd be wary is if someone corrected every single grammatical mistake. If you do that, I'd prefer it to be in a PM, but I won't hold it against you publicly (i.e. I won't delete your review) if you do do it. Things that I don't allow: Personal attacks, either toward me or my audience. It's just not necessary to say "you're a terrible writer" or "what, you think you're like a real writer?" or something childish like that. For anyone who reads reviews before reading, it sends a false message just because you have a bone to pick or want to be a dick. Unsubstantiated claims. Basically if you try and correct me, and what you say is wrong or just an opinion, I'm going to delete the review and discuss it with you privately so we can come to a consensus. |
