Author has written 8 stories for Resident Evil, Discworld, Matrix, and Dishonored. Hi everybody! I'm the Hyperactive Hamster Of Doom, though most of my regular readers know me as HHOD. I've been writing since early childhood, and I joined this site on April 1st, 2003. Best decision ever. Resident Evil is my fandom of choice, but I recently became completely obsessed with Dishonored, so I've started writing in that fandom as well. Another enormous obsession of mine is the Fallout universe, so I'd like to start writing for that too. Some more about me first... Profile Name: Hyperactive Hamster Of Doom (HHOD) And now for my works... Resident Evil: Project Lucifer (Completed. My first major work, written at age 16-18, is holding up surprisingly well. I'm not sure if I have the heart to rewrite it when it's made so many readers happy. I also met my better half through the review page. Love lives in strange places, indeed.) Resident Evil: Fallout (In Progress. The sequel to Project Lucifer, and still in progress after... uh... nine years. The long and stressful process of moving continents put a hold on it several times, but I love this story and will make every effort to finish it!) Resident Evil: Double Amber (In Progress. A prequel to Project Lucifer, centering around someone who was originally just a supporting character, but whose adventures and backstory seem to have taken on a whole life of their own. Regular readers will be pleased/devastated to note that I am getting towards the end of the timeline and that Amber will be reunited with the rest of the Project Lucifer survival party in due course, to pick up where she left off.) From The Inside (Completed. A silly Resident Evil 3 one-shot, but it makes me smile. Maybe I'll give it a revamp one of these days.) Crash's Trousers (Completed. A little idea for a Discworld story that I had one day, many years ago. It's staying the way it is.) Welcome To The Jungle (In Progress/On Hold. I was going to make this an origin story for Resident Evil Zero's Billy Coen, and I do have a few extra chapters written for it. They're back in the UK and I'm not. Officially it's on hold for now, and it'll have to stay that way until I can get hold of my notes, next time I go back to visit! Sorry about that, folks.) Memory (On Hold/For Rewrite. A Matrix fic. It's been abandoned for a very long time, but possibly not for ever. I may just have to start over on that one.) The Telltale Heart (Completed. My first ever Dishonored story is a dark little tale about Daud. A retelling, of sorts, of the famous Poe story of the same name. But with my own evil little twist at the end.) FORTHCOMING STORIES Resident Evil: Raccoon City Stories (A collection of short stories about Raccoon City, some of which tie into my existing works. I'm doing a story for each of my invented districts of Raccoon City: Whitchley, Winterton, Brentford, Coburg, Haines, Central City, Newbury, Fairview, St James East, Little Estonia and Masefield Park. So far I've done three, maybe four installments so far. I'm considering publication soon, and updating as I go!) Resident Evil: Below Zero (Another Project Lucifer prequel, this time centering around Lisa's parents during their time in the Arklay Mountains. So far this exists only in my head, but the idea won't leave me alone, so I'll have to write it eventually. I may start work when I'm done with "Double Amber".) All The Little Pieces (A Dishonored one-shot about Hiram Burrows in his prison cell. Corvo gives him some jigsaw puzzles to pass the time. Madness ensues.) The Clockwork Rose (Dishonored probably doesn't need another Corvo origin story, but I'm writing one anyway. It will not leave me alone.) The Song of the Dragonborn (An epic tale of the Dragonborn's adventures in Skyrim, perhaps along the lines of Sir Thomas Mallory's "Le Morte D'Arthur". At present it remains entirely in my head, but I'd like to do this one day.) RETIRED STORIES Due to changes in the site's terms and conditions, I have now retired some of my older stories, including: Don't Let Them Get Me! [Resident Evil songfic] - taken down as songfics are sadly no longer allowed, even though I put up a pretty comprehensive disclaimer back when they still were, and parodied the original lyrics rather than using them outright. I may well republish this elsewhere in the near future. Cut! The StarCraft Outtakes [StarCraft] - originally published in script format, which FFN no longer permits. I was desperate to keep this one up but I just couldn't see a practical way to revise the story to comply with the new rules without completely changing the tone of the work and probably killing half of the comedy in the process, so I've taken it down for the time being. I'm strongly considering republishing this elsewhere, as it was one of my more popular early works, and it still makes me chuckle when I re-read it. Sorry to the readers who enjoyed it as well. I'll try to make sure it's not gone from the Internet for too long! The Casebook of Dr Steigenberger, StarCraft Shrink [StarCraft] - okay, so this didn't break any rules, but I retired it because I just wasn't feeling it any more. Until I come up with ideas for more chapters to make this into a proper "Casebook" rather than just a silly one-shot about Kerrigan, I've put this one on ice. May republish here on FFN with additional material at a later date. ... well, I think that's covered the basics. If you'd like to know more about the stories I write, or have any questions or comments, please feel free to send me reviews, PMs and suchlike. I love hearing from my readers and will reply as soon as I'm able! HHOD :) IMPORTANT UPDATE! Some thieving jerkwad calling themselves "M.P. Pubs" stole one of my stories recently (Resident Evil: Project Lucifer) and tried publishing it as an ebook via Amazon/Kindle without my knowledge or permission. I managed to get the listing removed by Amazon, but if you see any instances of it floating around out there, please let me know and/or message the site to let them know that it's been plagiarized! Thanks again to one of my fellow authors for letting me know about the issue... and be careful with your works out there, guys. Don't let anybody steal your stories from you! |
