![]() Author has written 15 stories for StarTrek: Enterprise, Stargate: Atlantis, and Lancer. Original profile: I watched the Star Trek franchise right from TOS, when I was in love with Capt. Kirk, Mr Spock and Doc McCoy, then came the arrival of a certain chief engineer played by the delectable Connor Trineer. I don't do techno-babble very well, so the stories are mostly just adventures. 2006 update: Well, I haven't been posting here for a while, having enjoyed the fun of membership at a Lancer site over on Yahoo although I never stray far from ffnet for stories. I can remember oh so clearly the Lancer series on TV and how this young girl's heart was won fair and square by Johnny Lancer as portrayed by the gorgeous James Stacy. There wasn't anyone else quite like him on TV then. Even now pictures of him as Johnny set this older girl's heart a-flutter. And then along came Stargate SG1 and the deliciously sarcastic Jack O'Neill. Gotta love a man in uniform who flouts convention and protocol in favour of fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants heroics. Always loved RDA as MacGyver, too. And now my life is once again full with the arrival of Stargate Atlanits and the even more delicious John Sheppard. As David Hewlett is quoted: "Joe Flanigan is too good looking for his own good!" Gotta agree and if I was his wife I'd confine him to the bedroom and NEVER let him out of my sight! Ooh, I'm off to have a cold shower... October 2008 - although the Lancer fandom seems to be loathe to submit reviews I'm rather fond of these six stories I wrote a couple of years ago so I've decided, what the heck! They were favourably received on the Yahoo Groups site and maybe someone here might enjoy them, too. Any and all reviews will be gratefully received:D See below for synopsis of the series. It might help. For the uninitiated, the Lancer story is set in California in 1870s. Murdoch Lancer came from Scotland, married a Boston socialite, Catherine Garrett, and sadly she died shortly after giving birth to his son, Scott. Scott's grandfather, Harlan, was very wealthy and Murdoch hadn't got his ranch established so the g/father took charge of the baby, refusing the distraught father his only link to his dead wife. After grieving for several years, Murdoch married a fiery Mexican beauty, Maria, and they had a son, Johnny. It was alleged in one episode that Johnny was already on the way when they married. When he was less than 2 years old Maria ran off with a gambler and took their son with them. Murdoch spent a small fortune and many years trying to find them without success. Johnny's mother died when he was not yet a teenager and he turned to defending himself with a gun, already despised on both sides as being a mestizo because of his striking sapphire eyes. He eventually became famous as Johnny Madrid. When the boys were in their 20s they suddenly were contacted by their father offering 1,000 dollars for an hour of their time. The ranch was in danger from land pirates, one of whom Johnny knew. Scott was drifting from one social event to the next with nothing to keep his interest so he rapidly accepted, curious to meet his estranged father whom his grandfather had filled him with loathing over. Johnny had got caught up helping peons in a war that ended with him facing a firing squad. He was next in line when he was rescued by the timely arrival of a Pinkerton agent. Initially they were estranged and less than friendly towards each other but gradually the new family grew closer and both sons, their foster sister Teresa, an old ranch hand, Jelly Hoskins, and their father all settled to living at Lancer, with many adventures and even more fanfiction stories.
