Author has written 25 stories for Glee, General Hospital, and Wrestling. Hello readers! So, you've stumbled upon my profile, have you? Well, that's awesome. Let me take this time to tell you a little about myself and a lot about my writing, because let's be honest that's why you're here isn't? Of course it is! Anyway, my name is Marilee and I love wrestling. While I have not had the pleasure of having watched the product since the 80s, 90s, or even 2000s, ever since rediscovering WWE about a year ago, I have become fully immersed. And as it seems I have a pattern with these things. I watch, I watch obsessively and then I think, "hmm, I could write that storyline better." And then I set out to do just that, write it better or in some cases, write it completely differently using characters in situations one may never have even thought to put them in. Yes, I do in fact pride myself on active creativity in my work. I also pride myself on three things: 1. Writing characters as if I were the characters myself. Getting in depth with the characters, at least to me, adds a dimension to a story that takes it from good to great. Anyone can write dialogue, that much I am convinced of, but it takes a lot to explore the emotions and the layers and in some cases to create them. And as hard as it can be at times, it is hands down one of the things I enjoy most about my writing. 2. Eliciting real emotion. I've been told that readers have felt real, honest to goodness emotions when reading my work and as a writer, there is nothing more powerful than being able to invoke that in someone. Being able to get that reaction means that readers are connecting to your story in a more than superficial way. Again, as a writer, that's all you can hope for. 3. I value your opinions as readers. Because of this, I make a point of personally responding to every review left on any of my stories. If you're taking the time to write a comment, be it a compliment, a criticism, an observation, anything, you can be assured I will take the same time to address you. After all, it's only fair. Not to mention, ongoing dialogue with readers has made me a stronger writer so I thank you all for that! So, pull up a chair, crack open a Steveweiser or a Diet Pepsi and check out some of my work. Or not. But really you should :) - And feel free to message me anytime! |
