Author has written 6 stories for Summer of My German Soldier, Harry Potter, Labyrinth, and Tuck Everlasting, 2002. Oh, gosh, okay. Ahem. I have a guilty pleasure. It is called reading fanfiction. I have a guilty compulsion. It is called writing fanfiction. By this I mean that fanfiction is not something I am exactly proud of (hence the 'guilt,' and the 'compulsion'). It's more like a bad habit that I only do when no one's around. Anyway, you will not see many of my stories. Because I am busy. And because I do not usually enjoy my own writing. And because I am a perfectionist. So there. Should I post interests? Ahem. I like... long walks on the beach (ha no joke). I like the ballet, and the theatre, and the symphony. I like art (making it and viewing it). I like heels and boots, but mostly heels. I like dresses and corsets. I like vintage. I like acting and dressing up and modeling for pictures. I love movies, and books, of course. Pride & Prejudice is my favorite in both. My favorite Disney princess is Ariel. My second is Pocahontas. I like Lilo & Stitch. I like Disney. I love Pirates of the Caribbean and the Lord of the Rings. My second favorite book is the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer. I also love C.S. Lewis. My favorite TV show is White Collar. And not just because of Matt Bomer, either (though he is a great bonus). My other favorite show is the SyFy series Sanctuary. (By the way, why did they change it from SciFi to SyFy, I mean, I don't spell it Syence Fyction, do you?) There is a soft spot in my heart for rejected lovers: Jacob Black, Severus Snape, James Norrington, etc. The subject of the fanfiction I read varies on a regular basis, but lately I've been reading a lot of Labyrinth fanfics (Jareth/Sarah of course). When I write, I try to write as close to the original as possible. I also really don't like alternate universes. And I never ever ever read or write slash. Aha! Oh yes. And I am... somewhat... of a grammar Nazi (but only with simple misspellings and the like - I know nothing about obscure uses of semicolons or dashes or the 123's of comma splices). While I do not go so far as to butcher (or even comment on inaccuracies in) other people's stories (so don't worry, I won't "flame" you), this does affect my writing. If I reread a story I posted months ago and find a word that doesn't quite fit, or a misspelling, or a missing quotation mark, or some such thing, I will go back and edit it. This is probably another disastrous effect of my compulsive perfectionism. Sorry. Anywho, as you can see, I just published my first story! And it's already on hiatus! Yay! (Don't you just love school?) But I read Summer of My German Soldier for the first time the other day and it was kind of like, "Anton! Nooooo!" (Because who wouldn't be upset after they read that?) Then, BAM! Fanfiction. So the whole thing was more spur-of-the-moment, and then life got in the way, and now the fire has become a little mound of glowing logs ready to die. But I'll try hard to finish it. We'll see. Also, I am currently writing a series of fanfics for Criminal Minds. However, my beta has even more school work than I do (which I believe is saying something), and has not gotten around to it yet. Also, it has been awhile since I've watched enough episodes to really get going on the story again. Not to mention I want to write the last one first and the middle ones last, but my stupid sense of order won't let me publish them that way. I am also writing a fic for The Lord of the Rings that will probably never ever be posted, just because I believe some works of art should not have fanfiction written about them. I started a Sanctuary fanfic the other day. But that's another fandom I'm not sure about posting. And the fact that my introduction is not very good so far. And, well, multiple other things... And maybe I'll write a series for White Collar, but I have to finish the Criminal Minds ones first (here is where I roll my eyes and mumble "Finish? Yeah, like that's going to ever happen! Ha!"). Indiana Jones, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Wild Magic have also cropped up lately, so maybe... maybe... |
