Author has written 18 stories for Supernatural, True Blood, Justified, Egyptian Mythology, Chicago Fire, New Amsterdam, 2018, and Chicago PD. Writers write for all different reasons. Ones that perhaps the author isn't even aware of. I see the stories in my head, pull out what seems to work and file the rest away for possible future use. Music is a true inspiration for me and as I follow my characters around and watch what they do, I hear their soundtrack. I believe we all have a soundtrack and sometimes we are able to connect with what inspires us or simply what makes sense in our world. I know that if I don't write, my mind would swirl into a madness that I wouldn't be able to recover from. Once a character or storyline had found its way to me, my mind will not let it go. Franz Kafka once said "A non-writing writer is a monster courting insanity." I have to say I completely understand his statement. But writing isn't always or often easy as Hemingway once stated, "There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." If I had to use a typewriter there would be a lot of blood. But this labor is one that gives me relief of life and the world. I have found that I am never truly in control, that distinction goes to the muse and I must yield to its desires and the path it leads me on. If you have read any of my stories, you can easily see a theme. I hope that the relationships that I establish are entertaining as they are as true to life with the emotional turmoil that come with simply living. I hope to have many more words to left to share and that there will always be people ready to receive them. Thank you all for reading, it does seem to be a dying art. |
