I love to write and I always have. I tend to enjoy sci-fi and fantasy more than most other genres, with my favorite authors being Mercedes Lackey, Garth Nix, and Tamora Pierce, among others. I also love mystery and romance, which is why I love the shows Bones and Castle so much.

I think a lot of writers on this site underestimate themselves and their writing abilities. I also think that the spell check button and proofreading your own work can be one of the best things to do when trying to increase the number of people reading your stories. Of course, we are all victims of the stray typo, but spelling and grammar check is one of a writer's best friends.

But for me, it's all about the characters. Because if the character you are creating, or even duplicating, isn't right or hasn't been developed enough, the story you are trying to tell won't come through. Find that character, though, and suddenly a story can become irresistible.
