I, being studious of brevity, am going to try and make this short.

Once upon a time (that time being November 29, 2009), there was a twelve-year-old boy whose head was bare and full of air, dead flies and bits of fluff. He wanted to write fanfiction for the Mysterious Benedict Society series, and when he discovered Fanfiction.Net and its MBS archive, he decided to join the fun. Because he was a few tacos short of a fiesta platter, he named himself "GreatKateZonkeyMachine" (if you don’t get it, don’t ask).

Today, I’m a much better writer and more mature than I was in my early days of FF. If you come across any old leavings of mine that seem obtuse/immature/obnoxious, all I ask is that you don’t think of my present-day self based on them. Reading and writing are things I enjoy, and fanfiction is great because it's non-profit: we write purely for the joy of writing, reading, and being read. Of course, 95% of fanfiction is crap...but you get the sentiment.
