You probably have at least a vague assumption of what I’m like. You are most likely classifying me as you read this (if you’re reading this) right now. We all do it naturally, whether we actually take notice of it or not. You can assume a lot of things about me. Which is good in the end, because that is the purpose of all this stuff here. I really do believe it’s good to know a bit about the author whose work you are reading. Good to know what their mindset is, how they feel about writing on a whole. I think it gives you a little bit of insight on why they write the way they do, or why their style is a certain way.

For me, writing isn’t a hobby. Not at all. It’s a passion. I love to write; to me it’s an art form. However, when I say that, I don’t mean just in the sense of being able to artfully string words together in an attractive manner. When I say that I mean being able to immerse my readers into a world where they can see, smell, touch. I want them to be able to dive into the story and feel as though they are experiencing what the characters are going through. I want them to listen to a character’s voice, as if they are a real person, because that’s what they are to me. They are separate voices in my head (as strange as that sounds), and it’s my duty as the writer to portray those voices, actions, emotions, and thoughts in a believable manner. They say that "a writer's paintbrush is their pen, and the paper their canvas." Personally I don't think that's true. It's more like, "a writer's paintbrush is their pen, and the reader's mind their canvas." That's what writing is all about isn't it? Painting images, emotions into a reader's mind. After all, even the greatest of novels are only limited by the reader's imagination.

My goal as a writer is to draw out raw emotions from my readers. I want to make them feel. Make them want to laugh, cry, get angry, get excited, bite their nails in apprehension. I want them to get attached to characters; I want them to feel as though the writing, the story is affecting them. I know my writing isn’t prefect. That’s why I rely on feedback from people who read my work to tell me how I can improve. Every review I get, every suggestion I receive I take to heart, for better or for worse. I really do my best to listen and hang on to every word. Which is why I sincerely thank everyone who takes the time to submit a review to tell me what they think. While I know not everyone can review, I hope those that didn’t choose to leave one still enjoyed my writing, and that it didn’t leave a lasting bad impression upon them.
