I'm LadyTemeraire, aka Jenni or Jen or "that chick knitting and drawing dragons in the back of the classroom". I was introduced to anime/manga in 2004 thanks to CJBlackwing, my best friend and lovely beta. Before that, I read practically everything I could get my hands on. Most of what I read nowadays is fantasy/sci-fi, action/adventure, suspense and historical fiction. I like just about anything having to do with dragons, so long as they're not portrayed in a strictly negative light. (St. George was a jerk. Just saying.)

As far as other things go, I knit. Incessantly. And design my own stuff. I also like to write (obviously), though my prose is light-years away from my poetry. I haven't lost my love of literature, and I do book review occasionally on my main blog. Feel free to poke around and read my stuff, and please leave a comment if you can! Critiques appreciated, happy comments hugged. Flames will be used to heat my room, which never seems warm enough.

BOOKS THAT WARPED ME
Matilda by Roald Dahl. Given to me by my second-grade teacher when I was outpacing the rest of my class, it showed me that being smart is okay.
When Pigs Fly by June Wood. Same teacher, but she gave me this one because I have a Down's syndrome brother.
Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey, and the rest of the series. Introduced me to the idea that dragons do not have to be the bad guys.
Eragon by Chris Paolini. (cringes) ditto to the above, plus it gave me hope that young people could write good books. (The series ended up being very blantantly plaigarized from several places, making this a Broken Aesop of sorts, but we'll overlook that for now.)
Tolkein. Instilled a deep love for the rest of the realms of fantasy.
His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik, and the rest of the series. Ditto to McCaffrey and Paolini, along with getting me hardcore hooked on historical fiction.
Anything by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. Makes clear to me why I love knitting.
Anything by Terry Pratchett. Taught me to quit taking fandoms so seriously. (Hard to do when the entire series is a satire.)
