My job involves lots of writing, but only boring, technical stuff that makes me want to put chopsticks through my eyeballs. So this is a nice escape, and it also provides a convenient distraction from the boring, academic writing I'm supposed to be working on.

I'm really trying to figure out a story with an actual plot--you know, more than just interesting little character studies. I like nothing better than getting inside a character's head, though; too long without it and I start jonesing. And that guy Hemingway wrote entire novels about nothing, right? So maybe it's okay after all. Right? I'm not looking for affirmation or anything. Really.
