Author has written 16 stories for Maximum Ride, Evil Genius, and Boy Meets World. 20 December 2009 I am all for the writer's expression: Murder Your Darlings, but what JP did to Ari was not murder. When Ari died, I was sad for him, but that's not what I mean. His death makes sense. Someone who was that worked over couldn't have been immortal. What I mean is Books 4 and 5 and probably the rest of the series as well. Yes, they had a funeral for him. But there was no other mention of him for the rest of the book. Nor in book 5. And that's what makes me angry. That's what brings tears to my eyes. Not that JP killed Ari off, but that he screwed Ari over. After Book 3, Itex is no longer the enemy. Instead it's Global Warming and Pollution. Itex dragged Ari through the mud, but a few paragraphs and they're over? It's done? Ari's life means that little? I can't accept that. I'll be writing a lot of stories about Ari and Jeb and remorse and regrets because although JP has forgotten about the seven year old that he royally screwed, I haven't. If I could write an inappropriately stern letter to James Patterson that would correct everything, I would, but I can't because he can't stop that Fax-mobile once it has shifted into Drive. He probably doesn't want to. Besides, what with the downturn in quality of his writing lately (seriously, a boy whose best friends come out of his head? That's mental. And it doesn't fit the conservation of mass either which annoys me to no end. Let's ignore Physics, shall we?) I wouldn't trust him to properly give Ari his due. Anyway. I'm Curious, A Midnight Chat, To Remember, and Distraction are all dedicated to Ari. Kisses and hugs for the mutant ignored by his father and his writer. |
