IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MY CURRENT FIC: You should probably head to my AO3 account. I'll be keeping this account and all its fic in place because I have a lot of fond memories of this site, but it was no longer feasible for me to keep posting in multiple places with different formatting requirements, and the AO3 was a better fit. I will try to let readers know when updates to a story that's unfinished here get published on the AO3, but otherwise I will no longer be updating this site.

Some of my readers recently (early 2015) voiced concerns about another author posting an unofficial continuation of a story I have had to put on hiatus because I can only write so much, so fast -- especially while handling my present health issues. My response to that incident is posted on my Dreamwidth account. Hopefully that settles everything! For ease of use, I will copy my guidelines about writing fanfiction of my fanfiction into this profile as well:

For clarity's sake, I'm going to make a short list of guidelines I would like people to follow if they wish to write fanfiction about my fanfiction, seeing as we would be publishing in the same spaces, which could cause more confusion between works than is possible when writing fanfiction of a traditionally published work.

Guidelines for Writing Fanfiction of My Fanfiction

1. Please ask me for permission before copying any substantial portion of my work into your work. This includes summaries and titles as well as portions of chapters. If you're not sure whether what you wish to use counts as "substantial", please err on the side of asking my permission!
2. I will not grant anyone permission to present their work as officially part of my story unless I have explicitly abandoned that story. I reserve the right to withhold permission to present a work as the official conclusion of any abandoned story pending review of your writing style to be sure it's a good match and a discussion of where you plan to take the story -- a policy I'm borrowing from the process J.M. Barrie's estate used to find an author to write the official sequel to Peter Pan. (This only applies to writers who wish their work to be considered "official". Anyone who wants to provide "their take" and does not care about me linking to them as the official ending of the story can skip this and go to Guideline 3.)
3. Note clearly in your summary that this is your work, inspired by my work. Please do this either as a fandom tag (for example, including "The Rules Saga [psiten]" next to "Prince of Tennis" when you declare your fandoms for the story, replacing "The Rules Saga" and "Prince of Tennis" with whatever stories you are referencing) or as part of the summary (for example, adding a clause that your work is "inspired by psiten's 'The Rules Saga'", using the name of the story you intend to reference -- please note, this is the only option available to you on Fanfiction.net because of their fandom tag submittal process). I hope this will be no more onerous than the process of noting the original fandom that inspired both of us!

In appreciation for you following these guidelines, I will make you the following promises:

1. I will not steal your ideas for the official story. In order to ensure this, like many authors before me, I will avoid reading your fanfiction so that I do not accidentally co-opt your innovations as my own.
2. I will not post any criticism of your work. For me to do so would be to invite others to say that I do not approve of your fanfiction. I'm a fanfic author, too. I approve of your choice to write about anything that inspires you.
3. I will not ask you to remove anything unless it is a verbatim copy of my own words. This includes content that contradicts my story, or content that I personally find offensive. Any fanfiction you write is your story, and I won't try to exert any control over it unless you wish for your story to be considered the "official" ending to a story I've abandoned.

I hope everyone finds that reasonable!

And that's all I've got to say about me. Surely you'd rather know about my fanfiction timelines?

It's my habit to keep details from one story as "history" for others. This doesn't mean you have to read them all, or that you have to read them in order. I also like to keep the individual stories readable as self-contained units. However, if you wanted to know the "order" of the timelines for each of my major fandoms, they're as follows:

PRINCE OF TENNIS: [Stories - 9, ongoing]

I call this timeline "Serious", but that's not so much a title as a way to separate it from the crack stories I've got simmering on my back burner. Comedy or drama or whatever, I've taken every effort to make this timeline fit 100% into my personal fusion of the manga and anime realities (no guarantees on Shin PoT events). You know, it's "my serious stuff". There are several background one-shots here, as well as 3 multi-chapter core fics (marked in bold). When you put the timeline in order, it looks something like this:

Middle School:

- "Himitsu" [Ooishi x Eiji]
- "Blame the Falling Snow" [Momoshiro x An]

High School:

- The Rules Saga [Atobe x Ryoma (main), ongoing. Will have 20 chapters. Sequel planned: Clippings.]
- "Sirius" [Atobe x Ryoma]

Career:

- Since Last Goodbye [Tezuka x Fuji (main), ongoing. Will have 60 chapters, plus the Prologue. Sequel planned: Right By Your Side. Prequel also planned: One-Track Mind.]

- "Math Problem" [Tezuka x Fuji]

- Christmas Stories [Tezuka x Fuji, ongoing. Length undetermined. This story jumps around to a different point in the timeline every chapter, thus it gets its own category.]

UPDATE OUTLOOK: Chapters 11-60 (yes, 60! The whole story!) of Since Last Goodbye are coming... probably starting in Fall 2014 and ending late 2015. Yes, I have a prospective date range! Yes, I have failed to meet every deadline I have ever set for this story, and I may fail to meet this one too, but they are coming. It's number 2 on my priority list below, right behind The Butterfly Effect.

Christmas Stories updates every Christmas, naturally.

The last twelve chapters of The Rules Saga are moving to number 3 on my "finishing old things" priority list, and will constitute the end of the story when they're ready to go. My hazy prediction for that is Spring-Early Summer 2016.

FIFTEEN MOKONA ON A DEAD MAN'S CHEST: [Stories - 7, ongoing]

Nothing is safe. Nothing is sacred. Everything is... pirates vs. ninjas. Possibly with a bit of 'saving the world' thrown in for good measure. The seminal fic was inspired by fanart by zelas. That said, the rest is me taking the pirates and the ninjas and running amok, with a slightly higher percentage of gratuitous adult content than you'd find in most of my other works.

Oh, right...

Most stories in the "Fifteen Mokona" timeline must be edited very slightly for content before posting here. These changes affect absolutely none of the plot content, but edits to adult scenes may vary from vagueing up a few key details to removing entire sections. Unedited versions are available on AO3 and DW.

Back on point. CLAMP likes mega-verses, and so do I. You can blame this series on Tsubasa and xxxHoLic if you want, but everything is fair game (and I do mean everything). Note: You should not need to read all the fics in order to understand the latest one. Most are designed to be capable of standing on their own. However, they also hang together coherently (and there may be more things that suddenly make new kinds of sense) if you read them from the beginning all the way through. The fics themselves will tend to be shorter episodes that form an epic when taken together, nothing that in itself can be considered an epic. They will also be posted in the order in which they're meant to be read (if you decide to read the whole series instead of a single, random episode). This may include flashback arcs. For reference purposes, that intended order is here:

UPDATE OUTLOOK: This is the only series for which I will make promises about when a story will post, as the entire AU is a gift for Beltenebra. Every December/January and every March, you'll see new chapters (usually about four). Most of the time, these will be a complete story, but I reserve the right to split longer ones. Bonus fics may also be published outside of the normal schedule at undetermined intervals as deemed appropriate.

Because this AU is a gift, I will not announce the names or the content of any of the fics I have planned before they go online.

OTHER CLAMP FICS: [3 stories]

The stand-alone story, In You [Tokyo Babylon/X, ongoing (I swear... I'm just slower than dirt because that story is bad for me, but I do want to finish it)] is completely unrelated to pirates or ninjas, and takes place in a slightly AU version of the regular Tokyo Babylon world. Same goes for the one-shot "Steam" [Kurogane x Fai] although you'll have to look that one up on my DW or on AO3 as I decided not to even attempt making a version that censored the explicit content for archiving here.

The one-shot "Sewn in the Lining of Me" is a standalone, canon-verse fic set on the dividing line between Tokyo Babylon and X, written as a gift for FaustianAspirant during Yuletide 2013.

UPDATE OUTLOOK: My attempt to get back inside Subaru's head has been pushed to spot number 4 in my "finishing old things" priority list, which I am predicting will happen in late summer to fall of 2016. I'll be trying to complete the "Dream" arc at that time. This story is psychologically exhausting, so forgive me if I don't actually finish the whole thing. Once I finish this arc, there will be a lot of outlining and mental prep for doing the next arc, tentatively entitled "Pair", to be released at some undecided time. I will probably be fifty when this story finally finishes, and will have been working on it for well over half my life. :sweatdrop:

NARUTO: [Stories - 3, ongoing]

Now for something completely different. I have three Naruto timelines, with one major fic for each, although the major fic for the third timeline doesn't exist yet. Because I'm writing songs. Because I don't have enough to do. (I bring this on myself.)

The Homecoming Saga: I appear to have a habit of giving my friends entire universes designed to their whim. This one is for Sumeria, my lovely beta reader who cannot be thanked enough. Like most of my stuff, it was inspired by something I wrote at two in the morning while half asleep, then sent off to beta to see if it was worth keeping. Apparently, the alternate Shippuuden timeline inspired by Sasuke and Naruto meeting up in the Kizuna movie was enough worth keeping that she kept throwing plot bunnies at me until I agreed to turn it into a 40 chapter complete rewrite of the series, with the potential for 3 or more sequels (as yet unnamed). Hidan may never forgive me, but I don't really care. He's fictional.

Sumeria and I are still deciding whether the "sequel" fics will get their own stories or if they'll simply be added to the end of the Sasuke Arc of Homecoming, as the timeline will be basically unbroken.

The Butterfly Effect: Despite the fact that Homecoming was conceived as "my fluffy AU that's really different from the original series, in that everything works out so much more nicely", it hasn't been that for quite some time. This is. You wanted to read about Itachi getting to stay in Konoha and raising Sasuke and Naruto like brothers? Scandalizing Iruka when he goes to parent/teacher conferences? Making Sandaime and his best friend Danzou's lives a living hell? Well, here it is, and I'm more than a little proud of how well it's turning out so far. Ongoing, 25 chapters planned.

The one-shot, "Spectacles", fits neatly into the nebulous future of either of those two timelines, or the nebulous future of the canon series (as I see it).

The Angels Had Guitars Even Before They Had Wings: Why am I writing a rock star AU in modern pseudo-Europe? I think entirely because of this picture. Everyone is in a band (except for Ibiki, who is Minato's lawyer), no one should be taken seriously (even Madara, although he tries to take himself very seriously), and Konoha Conservatory is ready to teach them to rock (assuming they can all deal with the personality conflicts and promiscuity that come with the rock star lifestyle).

I meant to put this idea in the freezer to keep until I was done with either of the AUs above, since the last thing I needed was another project, let alone one that required me to write actual song lyrics, but my dear, beloved housemate and college roommate had other plans. By their request, four short side-stories now exist for this universe, and soon I will start importing them over here. I won't be working on the major, multi-chapter epic planned for this timeline (currently entitled "Backbeat") until both the Butterfly Effect and the Homecoming saga have endings, but the one-shots can be read on their own.

UPDATE OUTLOOK: Chapters 4 through about 25 of The Butterfly Effect ARE NOW MY MAIN PROJECT. I am actively writing them (EDIT Oct 2013: Currently suffering from migraines, so the parts I'm writing now are going slowly and may not be online until I've finished writing and I can post them as an arc with no further hiatus). I will completely finish the story at that time. The original plan had been to pick up something else after that hiatus and come back to this in turn, but... well... I don't want to wait another three years before completing it, so the new plan is to finish The Butterfly Effect entirely. Yay!

New chapters of The Homecoming Saga are currently simmering over low heat until caramel-colored, and I have no ETA. That doesn't mean I won't update ever. It just means that I had to make a lot of hard choices when setting up my "finishing old things" schedule, and The Homecoming Saga requires more (and more tricky) conceptual groundwork than almost anything else I'm doing. The actual act of writing it will work better after I've had some years to get the outlines to behave.

OTHER: [4 stories]

My fics for other fandoms are, I believe, currently self-contained, single entities, only one of which is a multi-part fic. What you see is what you get. Whenever another timeline becomes relevant, I'll add it above.

Button Up Your Overcoat [FMA, Roy x Ed] - complete, 10 chapters.

I had to make some unfortunate cuts to the story to meet content guidelines (as I understand them). Unfortunately, the scene removed contains character development that 100% of my test audience found important, but it also contained Edward being very candid about events taking place. I was not able to remove that explicit content while keeping that scene's emotional content or Ed's characterization intact. To view the original versions, please look at my Dreamwidth post or the AO3 version.

Make Yourself At Home [Avengers, Steve x Tony] - 1 chapter written out of an undecided number.

I have had a spot open up on my arbitrarily-numbered queue below, so my Marvel universe (tentatively dubbed "Earth-2.71828") is now on the schedule. Although there may be sporadic updates in the near future, don't expect major updates anytime before the next 2-3 years are up, as you will no doubt notice that my writing queue is overflowing. There will, however, be more chapters of Make Yourself At Home eventually, because I'm horribly enamored of the idea of Captain America coaching little league (as I am of Steve/Tony and Bucky/Natasha).

Trope Subversion Bingo [various fandoms, various pairings] - 10 stories out of 25

Like it says on the tin: given a set of established fiction tropes by the lovely ladies at wtf_hollow, I have undertaken to write something that lampoons it, reverses it, or turns it upside down. I decided to tackle them in purely random order, decided by a random number generator, and likewise assigned each trope a random OTP to be the subject. I've written 10 out of 25 Trope Subversion Bingo prompts so far, and have begun importing them here. This series of one-shots will update whenever I have writer's block I need to clear up.

Since I've rearranged my writing pattern to work on finishing off Works in Progress, the following is my schedule for what I'm going to pick up as my main project when I'm finished with my current one. With the exception of In You, I will completely finish whatever WIP is indicated by this list before moving on to the next. This schedule doesn't include Fifteen Mokona on a Dead Man's Chest, since I'm essentially always writing that, concurrent with everything. Other things that may break this schedule are impromptu one-shots and National Novel Writing Month. This schedule may change at my whim.

PSA: I'm horribly behind on this list because of several chronic health problems. I appreciate your patience, since the only known medical cure for half the things that go wrong with me is to stop doing all the things, and then inch my way back into writing as I recover. So.
