Author has written 2 stories for Dragon Age, and How to Train Your Dragon. Birdi's back, yet again. Hopefully with more consistency this time. Anyways, I have again returned from the world of normal people to return to all you awesome sauce people here. Again, it's been a while but I'm trying to catch up on systems and program changes. Have patience with me and I will do what I can to stay on top of things this time. Next, and importantly, I respect everyone's opinions and their preferences; that's why we're here. But I do have a request: if you have an issue, or insult, for my writing, story, choices in the story, etc, take your flames to me via private message. If your goal is to embarrass me publicly, trust me, depending on the offense, I will ignore you, or I will make you burn. Let's all skip the experience and just keep my humiliation in private, where we can talk it out like civilized individuals. That's my only request. I DO, however, very much enjoy critiques and comments. I like to know what I'm doing right, and what entertains you. If you find something to your liking, do not hesitate to point it out, I like knowing what I'm doing right so that I can continue to develop it. Same goes to anything opposite: grammar mistakes, failed page breaks, spelling, etc. please point it out so that I can fix it for your better enjoyment. My goal is to be a writer when I get out of school, so I need all of you to help me improve my skills, no matter how small. If you have any questions about anything in general, feel free to PM and ask, I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Oh yeah. And a little advertising: Any InuYasha fans out there, my mom has a bang-up fanfic rolling along. Search for "Dogs Hunt in Packs" by SamuraiDemonPuppy. She's been working on it for a couple years now and it's one of my favorite takes on the "after years". Go ahead and check it out! -Birdi PS: A quick note here, to the people who have asked me to R&R some of their things. Don't worry, I'm sure I will get around to it. So when I don't do it instantly, here's the reason why. I have a friend who is an excellent writer and I was having trouble thinking some stuff up at one point. She said that it helps if you isolate yourself from the rest of the group until you're done, because otherwise you'll start losing your individuality. I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just trying to stay off to the side so that I can finish my story the way I want to without accidentally slipping off my intended path. I will get there, but let me make sure I stay true to my characters first. Like I said before, no offense meant, it's just how I need things so that I can write better. XXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxxx The titles I currently have active, so that you can browse if interested (Also because the allowed amount of preview space just doesn't cut it): Dragon Age: Origins - Dalish Taking place during the events of 'Origins' and after (Excluding Awakening because I haven't finished it yet), the story of the Dalish elf, Crea, and her journey to defeat the Blight with a rag-tag band of misfits as her "helpful" companions. Uniting a nation with a jar of attitudes like this can't be too hard, can it? I will be following the story as closely as I can to hold true to the game, but any extra flares are creations of my own to make the overall story a hell of a lot less depressing. Note: If you haven't finished 'Origins', there WILL be spoilers. Just a warning. (Currently on pause. Sorry!!) How to Train Your Dragon (Film)- Fearing to Fly Takes place years after the first film ends. Story of the child of Hiccup and Astrid and her wayward adventures as she tries to overcome an experience from her past that is making it horribly frustrating to try to meet her goals. Dedicated to my sweet and wonderful friend in Malaysia, Dina Shah [8/30/2011]. I won't ever forget you, my twin from the other side of the world. I'll read the goofy stories we sent each other for five years any chance I get. I'll see you face to face someday, just like we planned, even if it's at your grave. I miss you and all the ways you made me laugh. May you spread your wings and finally be free to fly without limits. [More stories will emerge, I'm sure of it, but I will try to update as often as I can to keep you interested. Please enjoy.] XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Also, just for the general fanfic community, I know everyone gets Mary-Sue accusations a lot, and I figured it can't hurt to have some tests on standby. If nothing else, I have found they are helpful when it comes to teaching you how to develop your characters. http:///writing/marysue.htm http:///writing/suestart.php http:///is_your_character_a_mary_sue_2 |
