Author has written 11 stories for D N Angel, Ghost Hunt, and Harry Potter. April 27, 2014 So it's been almost 4 years, eh? *sigh* I know I'm an insignificant author out of millions but I'd still like to apologize to everyone who has reviewed and/or sent me messages about updating my stories. My 'someday' promise didn't really pan out the way I hoped. I have no excuses. I might have been busy with school and other family stuff but I could have found time to work on my fics but I didn't. I'm sorry again. I might try to update again but no promises this time (is this me maturing?). Like, before, THANK YOU for all the support. From one writer and reader to another (well, mostly just a reader for some time now), I truly appreciate all the positive feedback and general loveliness. IcedOverFire May 4, 2010: Apologetic Announcement Peeps! Wazzup? :)) Okay, so, life's been awesome! (Hope yours are, too.) And, because of that, I thought I'd let everyone who's put me and my fics on their fave lists that (ahem) I'm way too distracted this summer to actually sit down and write much of anything. Heh. Honesty's the best policy, right? AND I'd also like to say sorry for those waiting for updates. I (very, sincerely, apologetically) can't promise a 'when' but I can promise a 'someday'. I really hope that's enough for now. For any comments, suggestions and/or violent reactions, feel free to PM me or whatever. Eh. I'd ALSO like to apologize to the people who've asked me to be their betas. (Cringe) I haven't been very good at coming through for you guys and I know you must be furious with me so I've already changed my Beta status--I absolutely hate it that I've let even more people down. I know excuses are bogus and actions speak louder than words so when things settle down for me, we'll see, 'kay? Sorry again to one and all. Hopefully, summer fever will die down and my conscience will prick me all day and night until I finally do something FF-related. And on that note, I'd like to send out a BIG 'Thank You' for the support and well...you know, not flaming me until I'm forced to cry myself to sleep. Or something like that. :p XOXO, IcedOverFire :3 oo0oo0oo O_O Hm. O-kay, then. Welcome! (laugh) First off, I think I should warn you, this is pretty long. And really, this is just little 'ol me taking up some space on FanFiction. :p Feel free to keep on going though. I wouldn't mind. ;) Anyway, I just thought that I needed to edit my profile for grammar errors and what-not. I'm trying not to make it too long but I can't seem to achieve that great feat. I apologize for my ramblings. So...let’s start this, shall we? We mustn't dwell on the darker side of things. Well, I'm under oath never to say my real name to strangers. (laugh) Sorry, but my parents were probably (I'm only saying that to give them the benefit of the doubt--it's not like I've actually gone to the past or found some ancient mystical way to see what or who they were before--but I definitely believe this) dictators in their previous lives and seem to have taken it upon themselves to drill good manners, common sense and fear into my head in very un-parental ways. But I've already changed my pen name oh, only about four times now. I wouldn't have had to but security purposes and all that. (shrug) I'm a lousy minor, if it isn't obvious yet, and it just so happens that most of my classmates are older than me! Can you believe that? It's the crazy educational system here that makes students like me suffer the ridicule of being one of the youngest (and now, after the transfer, one of the oldest) in the batch. It's an injustice, I tell you. But now my status (school-, home- and everything else-wise) is wacked--and I say that in the most literal sense of the word. Seriously, if I tried explaining it to someone, I'm sure they'd personally call the hospital for me. Due to aforementioned oath, I have to withhold any more personal data about myself. But since I'm not an especially interesting person, you can thank me for not wasting any more of your time. I love to watch anime but I’m not as obsessed with it as before and nowadays I haven't even watched a single show. I've been anime-free for the last six months. But honestly, I memorized songs, dialogues and all the small details of shows I watched when I was younger. Now though, anime isn't always my first priority, so to say. But that's a good thing, right? At least I'm not slacking off anymore. Also, I can't stop reading books. Ask my friends (well, metaphorically speaking, of course) and they'll tell you that I drive them nuts when I haven't read a book in more than two weeks. Not mangas, but real books with more words than pictures (definitely not textbooks though). Sadly, since I am a lowly high school student (I'm not so sure now though--blame it on moving everywhere...and again, my parents) I don't have my own money to buy the things I want. Which is such a pity since I'm always surrounded by my ritzy classmates who wave their money in front of my face every chance they get. Don't you just hate those types? Anyway, I'm enjoying the book category here more and more (thanks to my more humane classmates and seatmates back in school) and I've written some stories there. I don't know if they're any good but you're free to critique. Sadly, I don't like reading ANGST and or TRAGEDY stories. I just don't have the stomach for it. But I truly admire the people who write these type of stories! They have the uncanny ability to write such heartbreaking stories (while I, on the other hand, can't write a dark fic to save my life) and yet still able to put a smile on your face. Or it might just be me and my twisted way of thinking... There was one time I tried writing a dark fic but I ended up deleting it because I couldn't bear having one of my favorite characters dying, even if it was only in a story. I'm pathetic, I know, I've been told. I'm not sure if this breaks that stupid oath or not (nor do I care) but I absolutely hate backstabbers, traitors and liars. And above all of those people, I can't imagine myself enjoying the company of pretentious stuck-up snobs (I know a lot, remember those blasted classmates of mine?). In fact, it is common knowledge (well, here anyway) that I'd rather jump off a cliff than have to suck up to them. (laugh) Here are some of the shows I just can't get enough of. Truly, whoever made these are geniuses. Please keep in mind that these are just the ones I like re-watching (is there even such a word?), do not be discouraged by the number of shows below. Believe me when I say I can't even count the animes I've already watched. DNAngel (Most of my stories are in DNAngel and for good reason, I love the show! I chanced upon the first episode one night while trying to do Algebra and it just started from there. My teacher wasn't too thrilled about the homework I gave in the next Monday though.) Gundam Wing (I haven’t made a story here yet, but I’m planning on doing one when I can get a good enough idea to form in my head. My dad couldn't yank me from the living room TV set when the show was on (I was still in that phase of irrevocable obsession), he had to go upstairs and watch the news on the smaller TV in my parent's bedroom.) Gundam Seed (Destiny) (It's almost like Gundam Wing but more modern, I think. This show's more complicated in my opinion but that only made me more hooked when I was younger. I still love the show of course, just not as much as before.) Chrno Crusade (I almost fell off the couch every time this was on. I think it was only when I was watching this that I laughed so hard my mom finally snapped at me to shut up. But I wouldn't trade those times for anything, they were too hilarious. But there's a sad ending. Really, why?!) Fushigi Yuugi (This is the first anime I’ve ever watched with the presence of mind. It has immeasurable sentimental value to me. It’s a great show, it really is. I was sort of confused at the beginning since it was the first one I've seen but I got the hang of it after a couple of days or so.) Ghost Hunt (I just got recently addicted to this, I can't believe I've missed it all this time. I don't know why I found it so entertaining but I did. You should really check it out some time, it's a great way to pass time.) Shakugan No Shana (I don't know, I just started watching it for some reason. I was hooked for the first few episodes but lost interest soon thereafter. But I think it's okay, all things considered, so I've decided to put it up here.) Special A (Aw! Kei and Hikari are so cute! I love the fact that Kei seems to be realizing his feelings for Miss Rank Two before Hikari herself. And their kiss after he recovered from his flu! And Hikari's inedible rice balls! Gosh, I'm turning into a pile of girly goo. :D Regardless, I still love the SA.) There you go! You now know my all-time favorite shows (like that's going to bring about world peace). For books, anything that has to do with romance (I am a girl after all), humor, some history (preferrably European) and magic, show me the book. No offense to the authors and readers of these kinds of books but have you noticed that fairy (or 'Faeri') stories (not fairy tales) aren't always as wonderful as they claim them to be? I mean, I haven't even read The Fairy Path (there's a second book titled The Lost Queen--aren't series supposed to be really good?) but I'm pretty sure it's like the others that I've had the misfortune to read. But in case you're a fan of this category then I guess you could read Wicked Lovely and Ink Exchange, both by Melissa Marr. I enjoy fictional rather than factual books. I already get enough facts and statistics lectured into my head all school year-long, I'd rather relax while reading a book, not give myself early Alzheimer's. The Twilight Saga is one of the best series out there! And I'm not exaggerating. I cannot stop reading and re-reading Stephenie Meyer's masterpieces. Aw man, why'd Stephenie Meyer have to put Midnight Sun on hold? It's unfair! I mean, sure it's just Twilight in Edward's point of view but it's Edward for God's sake! The movie, in my opinion, could have been better. But what's so surprising about that, right? I'm okay with the books by Meg Cabot, Hailey Abbott (I think I enjoyed Getting Lost With Boys and The Perfect Boy the most), Sophie Kinsella (I recommend Can You Keep A Secret? and Remember Me?) and Carly Philipps. I've also read some of Jane Austen's work and a few of Sandra Brown's and Daniel Steel's. Read Lisa Kleypas' Wallflower Series! Go! I love The Devil in Winter, personally. Oh, and of course Nicholas Sparks. He's a brilliant author. You should really read The Lucky One. Now that is a great book. If you like the fantasy category, you'll love Cornelia Funke's Inkheart and Inkspell (I haven't yet read Inkdeath but I heard that it's awesome) and Jonathan Stroud's The Bartimaeus Trilogy. Hey, hey, hey! New series I just started on! Alyson Noel's The Immortals. Finally something that doesn't involve vampires and mortals falling hopelessly and irrevocably in love with them...the back summary of the first book,Evermoon (and the title itself, to be honest), sorta freaked me out though. The second book's titled Blue Moon but...and...yeah, you be the judge of it all. Neil Gaiman also falls into this category--you should read his collection of short stories in Smoke and Mirrors (first story into the book and the hairs at the back of my neck already stood up) and The Graveyard Book. I promise, you won't ever regret it. I also recommend The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It brought tears to my eyes (not that it takes a lot for that to happen, but still). I really felt for Liesel (and Max) and Rudy just made me smile like an idiot half the time. Death (the narrator) was also a strangely intriguing character but I can't imagine a better point of view the book could have been told by. So now, after Book Thief I want to read Markus Zusak's The Messenger, only I can't find it in any bookstore here. God. Why does it seem impossible to get anything in this country?! Eva Ibbotson's The Morning Gift is a great read as well if you're into European history, archeology, palentology and all those natural Sciences. I was also supposed to buy Countess Below Stairs until someone beat me to it. Oh well. Maybe next time. Jodi Picoult's a very insightful author, one of the best authors I've read for sure. My Sister's Keeper, try to find it. I can safely say that you'll have your children reading it when they come of age. I'm buying Songs of the Humpback Whale and Second Glance or The Tenth Circle when I finally find some money to spend on books. :) Which, hopefully, though doubtfully, won't be too long from now. Ah, before I forget. I've been waiting for a copy of Wake (the first in its trilogy, which is followed by Fade then Gone--all authored by Lisa McMann) to just land on my lap from the heavens. It's supposed to have arrived a week ago but...then again, I shouldn't really be surprised. I forgot the authoress (if there's such a word) but you should read Warrior Heir and it's sequel Wizard Heir. I'm not sure if the third book's out already (or if there's even a third one). I've finished reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Absolute genius. The story's prequel, Fire, is due to come out October 2009 and the third book--a sequel to both books--is still a work in progress. God, the wait always makes me giddy. Stieg Larsson (may he rest in peace) is an excellent author. I've already read the first book in his Millenium Series, The Girl With The Dragoon Tatoo (originally Men Who Hate Women) which was translated from Swedish, and instantly fell in love with it. Reading it sort of converted me, taught me to appreciate the books and authors of the Mystery/Thriller section. I've already finished the second installment, The Girl Who Played With Fire and absolutely loved it. My favorite parts, I've got to admit, were Salander's and Blomkvist's messages to each other. The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest, the third and last book of the series, should be coming out late 2009 (which is soon!). The wait is making me insane. :)) I just finished Cecilia Ahern's Thanks For The Memories and it was a fun read. Something was a little off for me though. I'm not sure if I want to read any more of her but it's worth a try, I guess. I'm working on Barbara Kingsolver's Poisonwood Bible. I actually thought it's be some boring read but it's turning out very...not, you know? Go and buy or borrow it (or whatever) if you haven't already. It is kinda long though so beware! (Laugh) Lord, please let the heavens open and make a copy of Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife appear at my doorstep. I was actually going to get this a few months back but then procrastinated (like I always do--insert eye roll here) and now it might be too late to get a copy with the original cover. Lord, you love me, right? I don't want to see Eric Bana's face every time I see the book (just like I'm thankful I read My Sister's Keeper long before Cameron Diaz took over) so please, grant me this wish? Yey! I just got a copy of The Time Traveller's Wife with the original cover! Woohoo! Pathetic doesn't even begin to cover it, huh? Right now, I'm still looking for other books I might enjoy. I've read and am reading a lot of books but they can't all be great, right? If you have any suggestions, please tell me, I'd truly appreciate it. Okay, now for the tricky part, this goes to the people who wants to or have flamed me. If you tell point out to me my mistakes because you think my story could be better, then by all means go ahead, I couldn't be more grateful for your thoughtfulness. But I am warning those people who flame just for the sake of it, you wouldn’t want to cross me. If you do, I swear to God, if I find you, I'll torture you until you beg to be killed. (laughs) (wipes tears from eyes) Let’s change the topic now. I'm not a really threatening person but I care a lot about my stories and I don't appreciate them being given bad reviews just because someone in the world's too bored to do anything with their lives. For all the people who reviewed my DNAngel and Ghost Hunt stories, thanks a million! I never thought that anyone would actually like them. I was new when I began writing there so you can only imagine how I feel with all the great comments from all of you. For those who reviewed my Naruto stories thank you too! Unfortunately, I've had a major case of writer's block so I removed all of them from the site. I'm sorry to those who were waiting for updates. I think I have one or two posted again though, but I'm most probably going to delete it some time soon. I just started writing for Harry Potter and I cannot express my gratitude to those who took the time to review, no matter how short. I'm really trying to do my best. I've posted two more stories in this category already and I hope you all know your comments really make my day. I know it's not wise to put this here but I hope you have pity on me and give me a chance to improve my stories. I try my hardest to make them readable and review-worthy (I don't know if the last one's true or not, it depends on your reviews) and it really helps with my low self-esteem and constant writer's block phases if you'd review. Thank you also to everyone's who has added me to their Fave. Authors list or one of my stories to their Fave. Stories list. I don't know why I haven't acknowledged you guys here before now. Oh well. Sure, I like reading what your takes are on my fics but it's really nice knowing that there are people who think I'm (or my stories) are good enough for their lists. You guys are my inspiration and your suggestions to the plots are awesome! I can't stress that enough, I just know it. Final words from the mouth of the girl who must have consumed a good few minutes of your time. (sheepish smile) For those who reviewed, I’ll try to go to your profiles and read some of your stories and review as well, just my way of saying thanks. I hope you don't get offended by this, I naturally enjoy giving reviews. If you have anything to say to or ask me, just send me a message. I’ll try my best to reply as soon as possible. I'm editing my stories now and I promise that one way or the other I'm going to acknowledge all of you who reviewed. You guys are great and I hope that your stories are doing well! Okay then, until I find time to edit this again and probably bore you half to death, you know where to find me! P.S. Damage Control has a lot of cool stories in its archive. You should go check it out, seriously! Not much is going on in the DC Forum right now but I'm sure no one would mind a few new challenges/requests. One great idea could change everything so give it a shot. You know you want to! P.P.S. Can anyone recommend me any good anime shows? Please? I want to try writing a story outside of DNAngel, Ghost Hunt and Naruto. Really, I do. P.P.P.S. (Let's see how long I can get this :D) I also have an account in FictionPress and I'd love for you guys to read some of my original stories there. I've only got three at the moment (maybe more now since I suck at updating my profiles--or less since I'm me, after all) but new ideas strike at the most unexpected moments, right? I hope to see you there! You know...figuratively speaking. :D I'm Blinking Spots there, by the way. Peace! IcedOverFire OUT! XD (I've always wanted to say that.) |
