Raven wasn't one to search for love. She convinced herself that she didn't need love. It only ended in heartbreak. Her parents, for example. Raven couldn't count the amount of times she locked herself in her room, hands pressed over her ears as two screamed at each other downstairs. Overall, Raven was okay with being alone.
Oh, if only she saw this coming, she wouldn't have had the wind knocked out of her when it did.
It would never have been guessed by anyone. But, there she sat curled up in a chair in her own dorm, kissing and cuddling her boyfriend of 2 months. Still, she couldn't think of a time where she was happier. It was hilarious, really. The supposed next vicious ruler was laughing in pure joy as she kissed a madly blushing Dexter Charming. He had been on cloud nine ever since they started dating. Sure, it was tough at times- they could deal without all of the disapproval. But, she was worth it. He smiled feeling her lean her head on his shoulder. She didn't expect herself to be so affectionate, but there was something about him that made her completely comfortable. He pulled her closer and kissed her temple. Raven smiled at him and chuckled.
"You're blushing." she stated. His cheeks turned a deeper shade of red at her comment. Dexter chuckled.
"I guess I am." he smiled. She returned his smile, noticing that something was on his mind.
"What're you thinking about?" Raven asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Just you." Dexter replied, kissing her forehead. Should I tell her? He thought. Maybe now would be a good time... He was pulled from his thoughts when Raven spoke.
"That's funny, I'm thinking about you." she smiled, softly pressing her lips into his. he smiled against her lips, holding her closer to him, stroking her cheek with one hand. She sighed into the kiss, completely melting at his soft touch. There was something so unique about the way he held her in his arms that made Raven fall into bliss. Dexter pulled away, but stayed close to her.
"I love you." he whispered. He really did love her, he loved her more than anything. But was it too soon to say? He mentally face palmed at telling her so soon. No, he couldn't think like that. He loved her and he wanted her to know.
Raven was a little caught off guard by his confession. Mainly because no one outside her family had ever told her that. But she knew she loved him too, it was just an unfamiliar thought. Nevertheless, the thought made her smile.
"I love you, too." she said, looking into his eyes. Dexter blushed.
"R-really?" he asked. She nodded, smiling. He matched her smile, pulling her into a hug. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." he murmured into her hair.
"And you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." she smiled, kissing his cheek. She pulled away from the hug and cuddled closer to him, resting her head back on his shoulder. He sighed, hugging her closer, leaning down to peck her lips.
"Raven?" he asked.
"Mhmm?"
"Will you be my happily ever after?" he whispered. She smiled.
"Yes I will. As long as your mine." He chuckled.
"I guess it's a deal, then."
Love.
Raven wasn't one to look for it, but it found her.
And, boy, was she glad it did.
