Keep You Safe.
Hope you like! My second poem for Warm Bodies!
Still.
I amble on.
Without anyplace to go.
Without singing a song.
I'm trapped in this shell of a body that's falling apart,
Like inside of me,
My un-beating heart.
I hoped things might change,
But nothing has,
Who's to blame?
Until I meet her,
In an unfortunate way,
On a fateful day,
Her love wasn't meant to be,
It wasn't meant for me,
So now as we sit here,
I say "Don't be creepy, don't be creepy…"
But the records crackle and bring this plane to life,
I can imagine it now,
Soaring in the sky,
She'd be with me there too,
And no matter what I do,
I'm here to keep her safe,
From all these dangers.
So here I wait,
Nowhere is safe,
Especially for the living,
So with this one,
I'll have to be forgiving,
She'll live,
I'll make sure of it,
I'll keep her safe.
Got to keep you safe.
Safe,
From this place.
Perry's in my head,
And he asked me to,
Since I ate his brains,
It's the least I could do,
To keep from harm,
His little Julie,
And keep her heart beating,
And her brain thinking.
I feel something inside of me now,
I'm wondering just how?
I think she could changed me,
She sees me as more than just a zombie.
Sees the soul,
I have somewhere inside,
I feel her eyes roam over me,
In this plane in which we hide.
But for the moment,
My mission goes as far as to keep her safe.
Whatever else lies ahead?
It can wait.
Just got to save this soul,
Because Julie,
She's so beautiful,
I could fight and 'live' another day,
If she was here to stay.
But for now,
My mission is to keep her safe.
Just,
Always,
Keep you safe.
