Disclaimer: Dick Wolf and NBC own "Law and Order". I don't.

A/N: This popped into my head at like 2 o'clock in the morning some time last week. LOL I don't even remember what day it was. I think Mike and Connie would banter a lot. So here's some of that. Enjoy, fellow M/C fans!

Sleep Tight

Connie was visiting Mike at his apartment. The two of them ordered Chinese and watched TV, enjoying the free time granted them by their light case load while they could.

They watched that week's episode of "House, M.D." and that evening's Yankees game (which the Yankees won, much to Mike's satisfaction).

The two of them were lying down, snuggled side-by-side on Mike's couch.

Connie checked her watch.

"It's eleven," she said. "I really should go home, but I'm tired, I'm comfortable, and I really don't want to move."

"Then don't," Mike said simply, with a smile.

"Okay," Connie said, also smiling. "You got an alarm on that beloved gadget of yours?"

"Sure do," Mike said. "Yep—there's an app for that," he joked.

"Ha ha," said Connie, smiling.

She sat up, picked up Mike's Blackberry from the coffee table, and handed it to him.

"When do you want to wake up?" he asked.

"Tomorrow afternoon," Connie joked. "But really, six."

"Jack loves starting his work days at eight, doesn't he?"

"You knew going into law that it wasn't a nine to five desk job," Connie teased him.

"Touché…It's set," Mike said.

Connie placed the Blackberry back on the coffee table, picked up the remote, and turned off the TV.

She then lay back down next to Mike, resting on her side.

Mike, who was also resting on his side, had one arm behind her neck and the other draped around her waist.

Connie sighed contentedly.

"Goodnight, Mike."

"Goodnight, Connie."

It was quiet for a little bit.

Then—

"Well, yippee, I love sleepovers," Mike joked.

Connie chuckled.

"Shhh, be quiet, I'm trying to sleep!" Mike went on, trying to make her laugh harder.

It worked.

Mike leaned over her and kissed her temple, then lay back down and held her close.

"Goodnight, Mike," she said.

"Goodnight, Connie. I love you."

"I love you, too."

The two of them soon drifted off to sleep.
