You Were There
This is my thanks to the character I read about when I was little.
On the darkest of days,
When I was feeling down,
When nobody understood me,
You removed my frown.
You were there,
The friend I never had,
To comfort and calm,
When things seemed really bad.
You would sit and tell,
Tell me stories of fun.
Tell me of adventures,
Of the time you had to run.
Somewhere I knew the fact,
That you weren't really true,
Of how you were a story,
But you stopped me feeling blue.
I laughed, I sobbed,
I cheered and cried,
But I was never unhappy,
When I was by your side.
Never a is there a day,
I do not think,
Of the boy who helped me,
Who was more than paper and ink.
So this is for you, Harry,
And all that I've got to say,
Is that I thank you very much,
And never go away!
I do not own Harry Potter. He was created by JK Rowling, without whom I would have nobody to write this poem about. Thank you JK Rowling for the happiness your writing has brought to me and so many others since you published Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone in 1997.
