Clean-Up by patricia51

(Set immediately after the end of "The Good, the Bad and the Alex" in the Hall of Transfer.)

No one is left in the room. It's quiet and dark. Warren has gone to show off his new visor and incidentally has decided he looks really cool with a mustache. Alex and Harper are back at the Wizard's County Fair where they have discovered Unicorn Cotton Candy; just like regular Cotton Candy except it when you eat it you lose calories. Justin is testing himself new spells and Max is trying to figure out what went wrong with his becoming king.

So no one is left. Except the bits and pieces of what used to be someone. And they won't be there for long as the door swings open and the lights come on.

The gnome janitor frowns and mumbles under his breath at the mess scattered across the floor. He wrinkles his nose. All the bits of what-ever-they-were are starting to turn back into their original form. Someone must have used a transformation to ice spell here. Didn't they know that eventually it wears off?

He grunts, pulls out a broom and starts sweeping. As the pile accumulates he pushes it into a dustpan and dumps it into the heavy black plastic bag hung on the end of his cart. He pokes the broom under the Power Transformation Center and works his way over the entire room.

With each pass of the broom, with each load of the dustpan, a bit more of Stevie Nichols disappears. Now it's her crooked grin, now it's her cocky attitude. Now her rebelliousness is gone and now it's the uncertain and scared part that desperately wanted to cling to her wizard powers. But those powers are gone now, as is the triumph she thought was in her grasp and the complete faith she had in a certain friend. Everything that made up who she was goes into the trash bag; her feelings, her laughter, her plans, her dreams. Everything that she had been and everything that she might have become.

Once all the pieces have been found the janitor pulls the draw string on the bag. He'll dump it into the next trash chute he comes to. They're scattered up and down the hallway. He puts up the broom and dust pan and gets out his mop. A few quick swipes over the floor and he is rewarded with a clean, lemony scent. He nods in satisfaction. He pushes his cart out and closes the door behind him. The lock snicks closed.

For just a little while the rumble of the wheels on his cart can be heard. Then that sound is gone and the room is back to what it was. It's quiet and dark. No one is left.

(The End)

(I really, REALLY didn't like this last episode. I mean, it was supposed to be FUNNY that Stevie was killed? And what exactly made her evil? Wanting to keep her powers? Trying to start a revolution? Maybe it should be remembered that most countries, including and especially the USA have had revolutions. Anyone remember 1776? Anyway, sorry. I know I'm ranting.)
