Starscream sighed in annoyance, bringing a servo to his face. He shot a quick glare at the femmling sitting down and refueling. How dare Megatron choose such a punishment for failing a mission! He was the great and mighty Starscream, second in command of the Decepticons, not a spark-sitter!

A soft voice broke him from his internal ranting. "Starscream?"

He turned his attention to the youngling, biting back a scathing comment. Mustering up his calmest voice, he addressed the young Cybertronian "What is it, D-Cal?"

The femling stared up at him with wide golden optics, her hands clenched behind her back. "Can I fly like you when I'm upgraded?"

Trying to be patient at such a riddiculious question, Starscream explained, "No, you can't. You were designed with a terrestrial frame. I was designed with an arial frame. That means that I was made to fly and you weren't."

"Oh."

D-Cal's face fell. She bit her lower lip component, gazing crestfallen at her feet. Starscream cursed mentally. He actually felt sorry for her. He hadn't anticipated the effect that the little femme would have on him. Those sad yellow optics were just too adorable for her own good!

The Decepticon SIC sighed audibly. He knelt down and gave femmling a pat on the head. He couldn't believe he was doing this…

"Tell you what," he said, "When you finish your energon, I'll take you up flying."

D-Cal's optics grew wide as a brilliant smile formed on her face. She let out a happy squeal and hugged Starscream's leg. The seeker turned away, embarrassed, and pushed the youngling away. "AFTER you finish your energon."

He sat down and watched the youngling resume her refueling. Yes, he thought, too adorable for her own good.
