AN: First time writing a Naruto fic - only a oneshot. I rarely do those, but I've been itching to write a Naruto fic and since I'm busy with two other stories, well, this will have to do for now. This little ficlet is written differently (no paragraphs) but hopefully you get the gist of it. I've set this scene in a AU, so if one is to be technical, this story would not happen. As it's AU - I've set the characters to be in their mid-teens (late?) (that means they're older than sixteen).
Believe It
There's something about Naruto Uzumaki.
Something about him that attracted her.
He was far from the kind of guys that she liked.
He was ambitious, yes. The most sought after guy, no.
He was nothing like Sasuke Uchiha.
Brooding. Quiet. Rough.
Surely not like Naruto.
So why did she like him?
Those sparkling blue eyes, always filled with mirth when not in battle. Spunky - ready to show anyone he can do it.
He was nothing like Sasuke.
Right at the moment. Careless. Tough.
She saw him by the waterfall, she knew she should have turned but she couldn't. She observed him from afar, hiding behind the bushes as she watched him.
He began to strip.
She knew she should turn away, leave and respect his privacy. She turned away and as she bit her lower lip, she looked back. She was not moving.
He had his back to her…her eyes trailed down.
There was nothing different about him. There was nothing different between him and Sasuke.
He trailed into the edge of the water before diving in.
She held her breath as she counted until he emerged from underneath. It was twenty seconds before he appeared.
How long as she known him?
He began swimming back to the shore. He was completely open to the air.
She saw everything and she did not look away.
They were so alike, both Naruto and Sasuke.
She saw his mark and a small gasp escaped her lips before she clamped a hand over her mouth.
She had heard about it. Not through another girl. No, Naruto was not exactly popular like Sasuke.
Was she lucky to have him?
No and Yes.
It's been going on for a month now.
She was not enamored of Naruto…
So, why did she continue watching him?
He was drying himself. So he had only come over for a quick dip then?
Sasuke did not need to know, does he?
Such an arrogant, brooding bastard.
Standing firm, she walked around the place she was hiding from.
She will let him know.
Perhaps it's lust.
Nothing more and nothing less.
Yes, she'll tell him.
She walked towards him and he instantly heard her. He whipped around and his face was pure emotion.
Sasuke will never know.
Fin...
AN: I purposely left out the name. You can try and guess, but yes, I had someone in mind when I was writing this. It's not the person you think it might be ;)
I will definitely write a full Naruto fic once I get near to finishing one of my other two stories.
